🌊🐎 Watch our team transform the beach into a show jumping arena – every single day!

Building the arena is a race against the tide. Each day, it takes more than 15 people, 8 tractors, and 2 hours to create the competition ground.

Remarkably, when we start building, the sea is often still partly covering the area where the arena will be.

The competition can last up to 4 hours, and once it’s over, our team has just 1 hour to remove everything and leave the beach exactly as we found it before high tide returns.

Some people ask why we don’t build an even bigger arena (now 90 x 45 m). After all, there seems to be plenty of space on the beach. The answer is simple: time. A larger arena would have to be built closer to the sea, meaning the water would return sooner. That would leave us with less time for competition, fewer riders able to participate, and even tighter deadlines to clear the beach before the tide comes back in.

Because we work between the tides, Beach Jumping has a capacity of only about 50% of a normal show jumping competition. Every square metre and every minute count.

The arena is rebuilt from scratch every day, and its location is carefully chosen according to the sea’s schedule.
