Meet Wim, Jurgen, Luc, and Rudi—Participants of the 2024 World Parkinson’s Table Tennis Championships
Wim, Jurgen, Luc, and Rudi are from Belgium. They call themselves "The Four Musketeers." Their decision to compete in the international table tennis tournament in Metz as a team has a deeper meaning. Like the legendary musketeers, they stand united, battling side by side—against Parkinson's disease.
With the motto, "One for all, and all for one," the Four Musketeers emphasise strength, solidarity, and support. Parkinson’s brings its challenges, but together, they face them head-on, both at the table tennis table and in everyday life.
Why the musketeers? They symbolise courage, friendship, and determination—values that Wim, Jurgen, Luc, and Rudi embody in their journey with Parkinson’s. In two days, they will participate in the World Parkinson’s Table Tennis Championships in Maizières-lès-Metz, France. They aim not just to compete but to raise awareness of their cause and shine a spotlight on the broader battle against Parkinson’s. Even in the face of adversity, the Four Musketeers find strength, laughter, and camaraderie in their shared love for table tennis.
