“The Golf Brain Coach - How on earth did you come up with that name?”
That’s what someone asked me on the phone this week.
The honest answer?
It didn’t start with The Golf Brain Coach at all.
A few years ago, I was already working as a golf mental performance coach, training a group of junior golfers at a local club. To make the mental training more accessible and engaging, we called those sessions “the golf brain training.”
At the time, I worked under a completely different name. A name with meaning and vision — fully aligned with my approach at that time, but with no direct connection to golf.
Over time, things started to shift.
I began working more and more with Dutch-speaking golfers competing internationally and functioning within global networks. They started referring me, and gradually, international players found their way to me as well.
And that became the turning point.
Our company name needed to be clearer.
More direct.
Internationally understandable.
Using my own name ‘Wiebeke Seymortier’ wasn’t an option either — it’s not exactly easy to remember or spell.
So I went back to the essence:
What do I actually do?
That’s how The Golf Brain Coach was born.
No noise.
No explanation needed.
Just a clear reflection of my work:
Golf mental performance coaching, grounded in neurological and scientific principles. I help ambitious golfers learn how to train, manage and rewire their mind so they can better handle:
• pressure
• stress
• expectations
So they can:
✔ stay focused
✔ handle pressure
✔ enjoy the game again
✔ and yes… perform better
Because let’s be honest:
Golf isn’t decided by your swing alone.
It’s decided by what happens in your brain… when it matters most.
