In the spring of 2015 a diverse team of Belgian climbers will attempt to climb Makalu. Located in a remote part of the Himalayas on the border between Nepal and China, some 19 km southeast of Mount Everest, Makalu is the fifth highest mountain in the world with an elevation of 8463 metres. It was first climbed in 1955 by Lionel Terray & Jean Couzy, two legendary French alpinists. Although there were several attempts in the past, never has anyone from our small country stood on top of this giant... So it for sure will be a unique expedition!
