What a fantastic day for Belgian contesting and HAM radio spirit!

On Saturday 18 April 2026, the **Belgium Contest Club (CCB) Yearly Meeting – Spring 2026** was proudly hosted at the **LIR Clubstation ON7LR **. A great team of passionate radio amateurs came together to share ideas, experiences, friendship, and of course their love for contesting.

A big thank you to everyone who helped make this event such a success — and to all attendees for the amazing atmosphere!

📻 OT5A is Ready to Rumble! 🎙️

The antennas are tuned, the coffee is brewing, and the amplifiers are warming up! After an incredible weekend fighting for every single QSO during the YOTA contest, the team at the OT5A superstation is shifting gears for a big one.

We are officially in full prep mode for the CQ WPX SSB Contest this coming weekend! 🏆 Beverages being deployed as we speak.

The Goal: Top 10 Worldwide? 🌍

We aren't just here to participate; we’re chasing a spot in the Global Top 10. It’s going to be a weekend of high-speed operating, strategic multiplier hunting, and—of course—plenty of the famous OT5A hospitality.

What’s on the Menu? 🍔

Contesting is hard work, so we’re balancing the "radio grind" with:
- Serious DXing: Piling up those prefixes.
- Serious Eating: Transitioning from radio rations to a full-on food fest once your epic QSO are in the the log.
- Serious Fun: Nothing beats the adrenaline of a WPX pileup with the crew.

Operating a Multi-Multi contest station is all about teamwork. From the kitchen crew to the operators, the technical team, and the responsible band planners, it requires accountability from each one of us.

Furthermore, it's a constant journey of learning and improving because technology keeps advancing. We can't forget that Murphy's Law is always lurking, and we must come up with solutions when things go awry!

Beyond that, it's about fostering friendships and bringing together passionate ham radio enthusiasts. We're all building our experience and welcoming challenges with open arms.

It's a game-changer for moving our heavy power amplifiers (PA´s) and beverage antenna gear around the OT5A fortress.

We tackled the challenge of mounting a hefty 60kg motor on a scorching summer day, getting our 40m beam ready for the upcoming CQWW contest. It's now pointing YOUR way!

📡 Join us for an Exciting Radio Fox Hunting Event! 🦊
Date: Tuesday, August 15, 2023 - Location: ON7LR.org/event

The OT5A / ON7LR Team is excited to invite you to a thrilling radio fox hunting event on Tuesday, August 15th, 2023.
We care about the future of radio kids, radio enthusiasts, and this event is a fantastic opportunity to showcase our passion for the hobby.

🥞 As an extra treat, pancakes will be available as trophies for everyone !

During the preparations for the event, we had an unexpected surprise.
While hiding the 80m radio transmitters, we stumbled upon a curious situation with our 40m NVIS antenna.
It seems that an old, rotten tree decided to take a dive and inadvertently turned our antenna into a submarine! 🌳🌊

But don't worry, challenges like these only make us more determined. We'll be working hard to install a new antenna before the event.

Our dedicated team has always strived to maintain the best setup, including the impressive 3-element mono-band beam and the NVIS antenna for 40m.

All OT5A radio enthusiasts are welcome to join in the fun.
