Dear all,

2016 marks an amazing achievement. Starting in 1995, the then Brussels British RFC Women stuck together, played some rugby, partied a few times and more importantly kept welcoming women from all over to join in on the fun! Now the team finished it's 20th season in 2nd Nat Div, taking 4th place.

Time to celebrate it is! This weekend (starting tomorrow!) a number of events have been scheduled, with players from day 1 and beyond joining those of the current team this weekend to party and catch up. No team can do without support and it would be great to add a few more familiar faces to the mix.

Therefore we're happy to extend our invitations to all who've supported BBRFC Celtic Women from the sidelines (and wherever else...!) All are welcome to come raise a glass with us over the weekend!

So what's happening?

On Friday; We'll be (re)visiting some of the old Club houses and watering holes. The itinerary can be found here; https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2PEYDIY3D6iOFVlckVnRlFKRlk/view

On Saturday; From 2 until 4pm there'll be a chance to recover (actively) from the Pub Crawl with a few games/challenges/races and a game of Touch.

In the evening (as of 7pm) a dinner (3 course meal + open bar thanks to a few very generous sponsors) is organised at Cercle des Voyageurs. There are still spots available! If you like to join us there, please confirm today (Registration ends at midnight!)! Some more info and most importantly the link to chose your menu can be found here; http://createsend.com/t/i-82FC08F8BA6DA7F9A

On Sunday; Weather permitting (and it's looking positive atm!) a recovery picnic/brunch will be held in Parc Cinquantenaire, at 1pm.

At 4pm, the current Clubhouse 'Ruck and Maul' (Triomflaan 52, 1160 Brussel) is the location for our Charity Pub Quiz, featuring questions on general topics, as well as a bit of Team and Club history! Money raised will go to the Orbit Village project in Kenya (http://www.orbitvillage.org), a charity that has been supported regularly by BBRFC alumni! If you like to join/register a team, email [email protected]

The Pub Quiz will be the end of a festive weekend, and we hope to see as many familiar faces, from present and past, join us along the way!

Please circulate this message as you wish!

Thanks!

In the spring of 2014, preliminary talks took place between the officials of BBRFC and Brussels Celtic. The discussion centred on whether Brussels’ two foremost international rugby clubs could finally reach an agreement and form one cohesive international rugby club that would be an enticing, forward thinking, international rugby home for male, female, touch and junior rugby players of all standards in Belgium.

There had been several attempts to bring the two clubs together in the past but differences of opinion meant that talks were never conclusive. In June 2014 the members of BBRFC and BCRFC finally voted unanimously for the two clubs to merge and an extremely promising future beckons.

The club runs 3 male XVs teams, a women’s team, a touch squad and a rugby school.

The club’s 1st XV plays will play the 2014/15 in the Belgian National Division 3.

We welcome players from anywhere in the world, whether that be as close as Belgium or as far as New Zealand.
