IKO and WKMO Collaborate at Highest Technical Levels

After the memorandum of agreement with WTOKF, the signing of an agreement with the World Karate Martial Art Organization, a long precedented international karate organization,has provided the opportunity more than ever for the athletes and coaches to enjoy each other’s experiences in a highly spirited environment and compete in international karate tournaments with no hindrances.

The IKO management, while finding such collaborations important, stressed that karate belongs to all karatekas and all karate federations and organizations must employ their policies towards pushing the wheels of karate in a uniform direction. While thanking President Paolo Bolaffio's disposition and all executive members in WKMO, it was emphasized that IKO will make all efforts towards strengthening these agreements.

Heads of IKO and WTOKF Sign Memorandum of Understanding

The heads of the World Traditional Okinawa Karate Fedefation and International Karate Organization signed a memorandum of understanding in which joint collaborations for organizing karate tournaments and exchange of information towards promoting the
qualitative and technical level of the athletes, coaches and referees was emphasized.

Every one of the said organizations believe that the beauty of karate is rooted in the tradition of karate and by reviving this very tradition, the lost identity of karate can be regained.

The management of IKO, while congratulating the athletes and coaches of WTOKF and expressing gratitude towards President Ionel Bara and all members of the Excecutive Board, deems the signing of this memorandum of understanding a new step towards the expansion of the karate sport and will make every effort in that regard.

On August 8, 2021, one day after the only presence of karate in the 2020 Tokyo summer Olympics, through collaboration and brainstorming of a significant number of experienced karate managers, the central nucleus of the IKO was formed with the strategy of regaining karate’s lost identity and its technical and geographical development.
