🧐What is Straight Arm Scapular Strength?

SASS is a practice often trained in gymnastics (but benefits anyone) that refers to the ability to engage and control the muscles around the scapula while keeping the arms extended.

👇Here’s how it builds superhuman athletes.👇

First of all straight arm scapular strength enhances your body awareness and control, allowing you to excel in bodyweight exercises and complex movements like handstands, olympic weightlifting, muscle ups and levers to name a few.🤸‍♀️

Additionally it also improves stability and prevents common shoulder injuries by mastering the mechanics of your shoulder joint, reducing the risk of overuse or strain.
And by building often lacking muscles around the scapula such as the serratus anterior, lower traps, and rhomboids, you’re creating a solid foundation for movement and shoulder health.🏋️‍♀️

Lastly Straight Arm Scapular Strength uses the power of isometrics to create strength by engaging more muscle fibers in static holds helping you to generate more force. As these fibers synchronize to support scapular stability, muscle endurance also improves as time under tension increases.

How to program EMOMs like a pro?

EMOM (every minute on the minute) are an awesome tool you should be using in your training!

Here are 3 ways + examples on how you can use them to your benefit!

⏱️ Time Management:
EMOMs are an excellent way to practice time management during workouts. Athletes must complete a specific amount of work within a minute, forcing you to maintain a consistent pace and become aware of how much time certain tasks take.

EMOM 15’
1. 40” Burpees to target
2. 40” Dumbbell Walking Lunges
3. 40” Assault Bike for Calories

🏃‍♂️Capacity Building:
EMOMs are effective for building work capacity and conditioning. By working at high intensity with short rest periods, athletes improve their ability to sustain effort over time.

EMOM 15’
1. 16-20 Unbroken C2B
2. 16-20 DB Snatches
3. 12-16 Cal Bike Erg

🤸Skill Development:
EMOMs can focus on skill development and technique refinement. By breaking down complex movements into smaller sets with built-in rest, athletes can concentrate on proper form and improve their proficiency in specific exercises.

Our name comes from the Greek word Βιωματικό or Viomatiko written in English.

(pronounced: Vee-o-ma-tee-KO)

This word loosely translates to experiential or related to experiences.

In philosophical contexts, the term "Βιωματικό" (experiential) is used to describe concepts, knowledge, or understanding that is based on direct personal experiences. It emphasises the significance of lived experiences as a source of knowledge and insight.

Overall, the term "Βιωματικό" emphasises the importance of personal experiences in shaping our beliefs, values, understanding of the world, and eventually in who we become and how we live our lives.

💵Be humble when things go right, be kind when things go wrong.
A big part of both our successes and
failures have to do with luck.

📈when in doubt, zoom out.
Time makes little things grow big and big mistakes fade away.

⏰ you should buy time with your money, avoid buying money with your time.
A big account without any time to spend is worth a lot less than having a lot of time to spend with a relative smaller account.
*
💰uncertainty, doubt and regret are fees, not fines, you pay for succes.
Be willing to pay the price for succes.

🧾 define very clearly what success means to you, it’s the only way to know what price is reasonable to pay and whose advice to follow toward it.
