Lot’s of criticism of referees at the moment. Like players referees performances can be criticised if fair.
What people need to understand is in rugby we have laws and not rules and the referee interprets these laws and implements them when they have a material affect on the game. If a referee was to blow the whistle for every penalty they see at the breakdown, we would have a very stop start game that would go on for hours.
Lots of people spending time on social media criticising referees and nit picking their performances and blaming them for their team losing.
To all these people, have you picked up a whistle and refereed? Not an easy job. There seems to be a lot of experts on Facebook giving referees awful criticism. Without them we wouldn’t have a game.
