Miss Musette classic yacht

Miss Musette classic yacht MISS MUSETTE is a true British Classic, a unique yacht, designed in 1967 by the famous Kim Holman for a gentleman-racer L.J. Last of Exeter.

Last of Exeter, who had the boat built on his own grounds, no expense spared on materials or equipment. This is no luxurious yacht, but a thoroughbred, built to fly to windward in an Atlantic gale. One of the last R.O.R.C. yachts with a long keel. The hull is made of cold molded mahogany on closely spaced laminated ring-frames. She is stiff as a church with 5.2 tonnes of lead ballast, giving her a

ratio of more than 47 %. She was a British Admiralty Cup contender in her racing prime, but served as an extremely capable family boat for more than thirty years with several Atlantic crossings under her belt, cruising trips from the Orkneys over Norway to Spain, and many lazy summers in Brittany. Miss Musette, like an admiring English yachtswoman once said in Cherbourg “is really what a boat should look like”.

Retrouvé échoué sur une plage de Nouvelle-Zélande, l’Askoy II a été retapé après plus de 10 ans de travaux. Une vraie réussite pour ce voilier mythique qui a appartenu au célèbre chanteur belge, Jacques Brel.
