Durham Shredders Mountain Bike Club
Ontario’s premier non-profit youth mountain bike club serving Durham Region.

We deliver recreational & competitive programs for boys & girls ages 7 - 18, building skills, confidence, and community on the trails. Durham Shredders is a not for profit youth MTB cycling program in Durham Region, Ontario. Offering a learn to ride, learn to race, and a competitive XC race program for boys & girls ages 8 to 17!

A big thank you to the Tony Osborne Memorial Youth Cycling Fund!

Thanks to their continued support, we were able to offer more youth programming at the 2026 Ontario MTB Provincial Championships, including our FREE Kids Try a Race and ShredHERS Fest, celebrating girls in cycling.

It was so great seeing all the smiling faces, new friendships and kids simply having fun on their bikes! From making memories with other kids their age to cheering each other on and looking up to the older athletes racing that weekend, there were so many little moments that made the weekend special. 💙

We’re incredibly grateful to Ontario Cycling and the Tony Osborne Fund for helping more young people discover sport, find their community and experience the joy of being on a bike. Your support makes opportunities like these possible, and we’re so thankful to have you in our corner! 🙌

☀️ Christie Pits never disappoints!

One of the most exciting stops on the Ontario Cup CX Series, it’s a race with an incredible community vibe - and this year brought beautiful sunshine and warm temperatures to top it all off.

Our Shredders had a great day of racing on Sunday, with some strong results across the categories!

Last weekend, seven of our Race Team and Devo athletes made the trip to Cincinnati for KingsCX, taking on a UCI C1 on Saturday and UCI C2 on Sunday at Kingswood Park. With great weather and some fantastic racing across both days, our Shredders had a pretty awesome weekend! 🙌

We haven’t shared much Enduro racing here before, but our Race Team and Devo athletes have been having a lot of fun trying something a little different! 🚵‍♀️

Over the summer, a crew of Shredders took on races throughout the Ontario Enduro Series, with some athletes racing the full series and others jumping in for individual events. We’re catching up on the results from the final two double-header weekends, including the Provincial Championships in North Bay and the most recent races in the Ganaraska Forest.

And just like that, the USCX season is a wrap! 🚴‍♀️🍂

Three Shredders headed south to Charm City Cross in Baltimore for the final two races of the USCX Series - and they definitely made the most of the season finale!

Saturday brought dry, fast conditions for the UCI C1, while Sunday turned into a mud race for the UCI C2. 🌧️

Either way, our three athletes crushed it!

Cyclocross season is well underway! 🚴‍♀️🍂

Ten of our Shredders CX Race Team athletes headed south to Rochester, NY, for the opening round of the USCX Cyclocross Series - and what a way to kick off the season!

With a UCI C1 race on Saturday and a C2 on Sunday, our athletes took on two days of exciting international competition. Great weather, strong performances, lessons learned and some valuable UCI points earned made for an awesome start to the CX season! 🙌

Asher put in an incredible ride on Sunday, starting at the very back of the field and battling his way up to 15th! And a shoutout to Sam, who had some seriously unfortunate luck on Saturday when his shoe’s BOA broke on the first lap, and he managed to push through another full lap with a broken shoe.

From podiums and hard-fought battles to the inevitable learning moments that come with racing, we’re so proud of all seven athletes for kicking off their season with determination and enthusiasm!

PROVINCIALS RECAP: WAVE 1&2! 🚵‍♀️💙🧡

The excitement from Provincials is still going strong, and with SO many Shredders having raced on our home trails at Woodnewton, we’ve got lots to celebrate! We’re breaking down the weekend wave by wave, starting with our youngest riders!

The first two waves brought ALL the smiles! 😁

One of the most special parts of the weekend was seeing some of our youngest Learn to Ride (Savannah, Scarlett and Tomas) Learn to Race (Olive), and PreComp riders (William, Mackenzie, Ewelina, Markus & Ella) line up for their very first Ontario Cup race.

Our Race Team also gave us plenty to cheer about! 🔥 From exciting battles on the course to personal bests and podium finishes, these young athletes put their skills, hard work and determination on full display.
