Ho ho ho, Santa's in town with all new freshers - joining the chess club this holiday season.
Brac University Chess Club welcomed all it's new recruits on the 28th of december in the spirit of christmas and holiday festivities.
The falling snowflakes, snowman pawns and the very lively group of chess enthusiasts - all echoed the joy of having the newbies in the community while making them feel right at home. As chess boards broke the ice between new and old members of the club, the very interactive introduction session made sure everyone became familiar with each other.
The speeches of the panel members, the very lively anchoring of the two hosts, the extremely educational and fun lecture by our sky sir - every move was laid out immaculately, just how a chess board is arranged. The freshers participated in puzzles, listened to their fellow peer's stand up session and went home with a heart filled with the shared happiness they acquired from their new found community.

The BRACU Chess Club (BUCHC) successfully organized the BUCHC Monthly December-2025 Online Chess Arena on Christmas Eve, bringing together chess enthusiasts for an exciting and competitive event on Lichess. A total of 33 players participated and showcased great sportsmanship and skill throughout the tournament.

AzeshiON (Hrishin Talukder ) emerged as the Champion, securing an impressive 35 points. Talha (Tahmidul Haque)claimed 2nd place with 30 points, while Rohnyteast ( Mohtasim Al Rafi) finished 3rd with 24 points.
BUCHC looks forward to organizing more engaging chess events in the future!

55years back today, the day the final move was executed, forever changing the geometry of the global board!

โ€‹The breadth-taking liberation war was not a quick play, but a 9-months long strenuous strategic blood match. Keen determination being only gambit and endless blood being the sacrifices, gerila tactics became our prime mantra. Fighting with forces often resembling only pawns and very little other pieces, our superior strategy was the key!! The opponent played with sheer brute force, but our strategic genius turned every field into a vital square, making the 64 Districts of our nation the ultimate 64-squares of chessboard.

โ€‹On this historical day, the nation delivered the brilliant Smotthered Mate! Winning us the full board with flawless victory!

โ€‹BRAC University Chess Club (BUCC) honors the strategic genius and indomitable spirit of the freedom fighters. The game is won, but the journey to greatness continues. Let's make our bloody but glorious history proud by embodying the spirits of their patriotism!!

Yesterday, our Chess Club successfully held its General Body Meeting where members came together to discuss the clubโ€™s structure, future plans, and strategies for upcoming activities and tournaments.

The meeting focused on enhancing member engagement, and strengthening our community of passionate chess players. With exciting initiatives ahead, weโ€™re looking forward to a year full of learning, competition, and growthโ€”both on and off the board!
