University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) recently hosted a delegation from the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) at its Dhaka campus to discuss strengthening international academic collaboration and expanding opportunities for students and faculty.

ACU delegation was led by Professor Colin Riordan, Secretary-General and Chief Executive Officer of the Association of Commonwealth Universities, and Ikita Pokharna, Membership Engagement Lead for South Asia. They were welcomed by ULAB Vice-Chancellor Professor Shamsad Mortuza, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Jude William Genilo, and other senior university officials.

University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) has launched the Creative Writing Certificate Course 2026, a six-week intensive program designed to help aspiring and experienced writers develop their fiction writing skills through workshops, mentorship and practical exercises.

Course features an accomplished panel of facilitators, including Anmana Manish*ta, lecturer at Brac University and fiction writer shortlisted for the Commonwealth Short Story Prize 2026; and Maisha Hossain, Assistant Professor at Francis Marion University in the United States.

University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) and Kaan Pete Roi signed a memorandum of understanding on 10 March 2026 to enhance emotional support and su***de prevention services for ULAB's community, including students, faculty and staff.

This partnership aims to improve access to support through the Kaan Pete Roi Emotional Support and Su***de Prevention Helpline. The agreement was signed by Arun Das from Kaan Pete Roi and Md Mahmud Hossain from ULAB, with key attendees including Ashik Abdullah, Vice Chancellor Prof. Shamsad Mortuza and Registrar.

University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) School of Business conducted a discussion forum titled "Linking Minds: Academia, Alumni, and Industry" on 28 February 2026, focusing on the synergies between academic learning and industry demands.

The event brought together alumni, students and faculty members to explore how academic curricula could adapt to the shifting job market. ULAB's Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Shamsad Mortuza, opened the forum with a keynote address emphasizing the significance of innovation, adaptability, and strong ties with industry in the context of higher education.

For the second consecutive year, a University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) student has been awarded Global Student of the Year at the Global Alliance World Public Relations and Communication Awards. This year's winner, Ryan Morshed Talukder, an undergraduate majoring in accounting and minoring in media studies and journalism, was recognized for his leadership and initiatives in promoting health and well-being.
