Mechafest 2026 brings you the battle of the sharpest minds - a war designed to determine who can imbue the perfect strategy with their nerves of steel. So take your armor and bring your A game to the 64 squares!
* The tournament is open for current BUET students only. (BSc.)

There will be prizemoney for the winners.

Time : April 6 (5 pm)

Intra BUET Chess Tournament – Selection Round Result ♟️

The selection round of the Intra BUET Chess Tournament has successfully concluded on Lichess! 🏆
Congratulations to all participants for the intense and competitive games.

📌 Selection Outcome:

The Top 30 players are shown in the attached screenshot.

From them, the Top 20 players will qualify for the Main Tournament.

⚠️ Important Notes:

The additional 10 players (21–30) are kept as reserves in case any of the top 20 cannot participate.

Final Top 20 participants will be selected based on both ranking and availability.

🎓 Eligibility:
This tournament is strictly open to B.Sc students of BUET only. M.Sc students are not eligible.

Due to an overwhelming number of registrations for the Intra-BUET Chess Tournament 2026, we’re excited to announce an Online Qualifier Round to select the best of you to play in the offline event.

🔹 Platform: Lichess
🔹 Format: 5+2 blitz
🔹 Rounds: 7 Rounds Swiss

⏰ Tournament Time: 19 March, 10:30 pm.

The tournament link will be sent through the provided emails of the participants. 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐜𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐧 𝟏𝟗 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐚𝐭 𝟔:𝟎𝟎 𝐩𝐦.
