Education and Training institutes in Bangladesh are suffering from power shortages. This has led to several challenges, including the inability to provide practical classes in certain trades, such as computer operation, graphic design, CNC & lathe machine operation, sewing machine operation, and welding. Additionally, even universities and other educational institutions are unable to utilize multimedia classrooms and Laboratories.
The impact of the power shortage is likely to lead to another learning gap challenge for Bangladesh, similar to the one caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. This is because practical classes are essential for students to learn essential skills, and the lack of access to multimedia classrooms, workshops, and laboratories is also a major setback.
The government needs to take urgent steps to address the power shortage problem. This includes investing in renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind power, and improving the efficiency of the power grid. The government also needs to provide financial assistance to educational and training institutes to help them cope with the power shortage.
If the government does not take action, the power shortage will have a devastating impact on the education sector in Bangladesh. This will have a long-term impact on the country's economic development.
