Carnival Chess chief coordinator Kayes Hasan said that Bangladesh didn't see any grandmaster since 2008. He said the game, which is at the top of popularity in other countries, seems to be slowly losing its lustre in Bangladesh.

Carnival Chess will host chess competitions at school level, divisional level, national level, and international level to create chess players from grassroots level, according to the organiser. It has plans to create content on chess in Bengali language and arrange chess workshops with grandmasters in different schools and colleges across the country.

বাংলাদেশে দাবা কে জনপ্রিয় করতে ডটলাইনস গ্রুপ কার্নিভাল চেস নামে একটি উদ্যোগ শুরু করেছে। বিশিষ্ট দাবা অনুরাগী খন্দকার কায়েস হাসান এর সুযোগ্য নেতৃত্বে কার্নিভাল চেস এর সাথে আছেন দেশের শীর্ষ তিন গ্র্যান্ডমাস্টার রিফাত বিন সাত্তার, জিয়াউর রহমান, এবং এনামুল হোসেন। কার্নিভাল চেসের প্রধান সমন্বয়ক খন্দকার কায়েস হাসান বলেন, দাবায় বাংলাদেশে নতুন কোনো সম্ভাবনা তৈরি হচ্ছে না, ২০০৮ সালের পর নতুন কোনো গ্র্যান্ডমাস্টারও তৈরি হয়নি। তিনি বলেন, অন্যান্য দেশে জনপ্রিয়তার শীর্ষে থাকা এই খেলাটি বাংলাদেশে ধীরে ধীরে তার উজ্জ্বলতা হারাচ্ছে যেন।

তৃণমূল পর্যায় থেকে দাবা খেলোয়াড় তৈরি করতে কার্নিভাল চেস স্কুল লেভেল, বিভাগীয় লেভেল, জাতীয় লেভেল, ও আন্তর্জাতিক লেভেলে দাবা প্রতিযোগিতার আয়োজন করবে। বাংলা ভাষায় দাবা নিয়ে কন্টেন্ট তৈরি, সারাদেশের বিভিন্ন স্কুল কলেজে গ্র্যান্ডমাস্টারদের সাথে নিয়ে দাবা কর্মাশালা আয়োজন রয়েছে পরিকল্পনায়।

শতাধিক স্কুল পড়ুয়া ক্ষুদে দাবাড়ু ও তাদের অভিভাবক এবং ৩ জন গ্র্যান্ডমাস্টার কে নিয়ে মিরপুর ১৪ এর পাবলিক অর্ডার ম্যানেজমেন্ট প্লে গ্রাউন্ডে হয়ে গেলো কার্নিভাল চেস ফেস্টিভাল ২০২১। এই আয়োজন ও কার্নিভাল চেস আন্দোলনের পৃষ্ঠপোষক ডটলাইনস গ্রুপ।
গ্র্যান্ডমাস্টারদের সাথে অংশগ্রহণকারীদের সিমুলটেনিয়াস চেস, চেস কুইজ সহ, বিভিন্ন দাবা কেন্দ্রিক মজার মজার সব আইটেমে উৎসবমুখর ছিল সারাদিন।

দাবা কে আবার নতুন করে জনপ্রিয় করা এবং নবীন দাবাড়ুদের প্রতিভা বিকাশের লক্ষ্য অভিমুখে কার্নিভাল চেস এর এই চলমান যাত্রায় আপনারা সবাই পাশে থাকবেন, এটাই আমাদের একান্ত কাম্য।

One of the oldest strategic game in the world, Chess, plays an integral part in mental development and building skills among children. With the vision of rejuvenating the beautiful strategic game in Bangladesh, Dotlines Group has initiated Carnival Chess. Grandmasters Reefat Bin Sattar, Ziaur Rahman, and Enamul Hossain Rajib under the able leadership of avid Chess enthusiast Khandakar Kayes Hasan are spearheading this initiative to develop the potential of the future chess players in Bangladesh.
