প্যারাস্যুট প্রশিক্ষণের সময় মারাত্মক এক দুর্ঘটনায় ভেঙে গিয়েছিল মেরুদণ্ডের হাড়। আর কখনো সোজা হয়ে দাঁড়াতে পারবেন কি না, তা নিয়েও চিকিৎসকদের মধ্যে সংশয় ছিল। সেই সংশয় থেকেই ছাড়েন সেনাজীবন। চাকরি ছাড়লেও ঘুরে দাঁড়ানোর সংকল্পটা ঠিকই মনে মনে পুষে রেখেছিলেন। সেই সংকল্প থেকেই একসময় অংশ নিতে থাকেন ম্যারাথনে, রোমাঞ্চকর সব খেলায়, পাড়ি দেন বাংলা চ্যানেল।
