So we went looking around for a 357 SIG for our project and decided to go with a basic Springfield Armory XD full size; 4" barrel, 12 rounds, single action with the same grip angle as a 1911. Considering we tested this same firearm with a non-compensated drop-in 460 Rowland kit with excellent results, it should be a good one for this exercise. I did not want a preset striker type, we've already worked with the SIG 229 and SIG 239 and the only other 357 SIG of interest was SIG's 1911 type. However, at more than twice the price we set the 1911 SIG aside and went with the Springfield.
