MOSTAR CLUB WANTS TO BRING BACK THE TITLE TO THEIR CITY

Mostar Stari Grad Staklorad, a five-time national champion and four-time winner of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Cup, aims to reclaim the top spot in elite competition and achieve a double crown. The most successful futsal club in the country, holding two titles, is celebrating two decades and has been intensively working on strengthening all aspects, particularly the player roster.

In late November, the helm of Mostar's team was taken over by Brazilian coach Alexandre De Souza, known in Italian futsal as Cafù. He has been given a free hand for a complete "overhaul" of the team. The new coaching staff bid farewell to Nermin Kahvedžić, Ivan Ivanković, Vedad Subašić, Emin Ćupina, and Salko Macić. It didn't take long for Mostar SG to secure some notable additions, including Brazilian Daniel de Souza, Stuttgart goalkeeper Luka Bevanda, another Brazilian player Thiago Cabeça Santana, and Venezuelan national team player Alexander Rafael Moreno Machado.

"This is certainly a new dimension and change in the club with the new coach Cafu. He personally chose and assembled a new team. He will have 17 players at his disposal, including two top-notch goalkeepers. We parted ways amicably with some long-serving players; there was no other option. Thanks to them on behalf of the club and management for everything they played and did to make Mostar SG a champion. New reinforcements are here, and I believe now was the right time for drastic changes. We invested a lot of effort in the club, and we live for Mostar Stari Grad Staklorad. We couldn't have done all this without the support of cantonal and city institutions, friends of the club, sponsors, and, of course, our loyal fans. Together, we are going for the title of Bosnian and Herzegovinian champions," says Amel Bajgorić, president of Mostar SG.

FOUR RIVALS IN ANTALYA

During their sixteen-day stay in Antalya, in addition to daily intense training during the winter preparation period, NK Velež has arranged four friendly matches against renowned opponents. Notably, they will face the giants of European football, the Ukrainian team FC Shakhtar from Donetsk.

These matches are expected to be crucial for the coaching staff, led by Dean Klafurić, to distribute playing time among all players, enhance the team's cohesion, and finalize the lineup for the continuation of the championship. The scheduled opponents for NK Velež from Mostar are:

VELEŽ POSLAO GOLMANA U NERETVU

FK Velež iz Mostara na zvaničnoj stranici kluba obavijestio je da će mladi golman Faris Ribić ostatak sezone provesi na posudbi u hrvatskom niželigašu NK Neretva iz Metkovića.

“Fudbalski klub Velež Mostar obavještava sve svoje članove, navijače i prijatelje Kluba da je danas dogovorena posudba kojom će naš talentovani mladi golman Faris Ribić do kraja takmičarske sezone provesti u redovima NK Neretva iz Metkovića.

Faris Ribić rođen je 09. marta 2003. godine, a članom Fudbalskog kluba Velež postao je na ljeto 2019. godine. Nakon što je svoje golmanske kvalitete pokazao u omladinskim kategorijama našeg Kluba, odlazi na posudbu u FK Mladost Doboj-Kakanj, a nešto kasnije i u bihaćko Jedinstvo sa kojim je te sezone uspio izboriti opstanak u Prvoj ligi Federacije BiH.

Za prvi tim Rođenih do sada je upisao ukupno dva nastupa, a svoj debi imao je u maju 2022. godine na meču protiv FK Sarajevo”, navedeno je u zvaničnoj obavijesti na oficijelnoj stranici FK Veleža.

THE FBiH GOVERNMENT ALLOCATES 3 MILLION CONVERTIBLE MARKS TO VELEŽ AND ZRINJSKI

According to istraga.ba, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina government, in its session on December 22 last year, adopted a decision to allocate 1.5 million convertible marks each to the Mostar clubs Velež and Zrinjski in the year 2024.

This financial support is significant for the Mostar duo, focusing on infrastructural projects, specifically the renovation and reconstruction of the stadiums of both clubs.

In 2023, the Mostar clubs had already made substantial progress in infrastructure, especially Velež, which had undertaken significant projects at the Rođeni stadium in previous years and announced further improvements in the near future.

KRANJC AND KADRIĆ HAVE LEFT VELEŽ

FK Velež has officially confirmed that Faris Kadrić and Alen Krajnc will no longer wear the club's jersey.

Alen Krajnc arrived in Mostar last summer from Gorica as a free agent. He didn't get much playing time in Mostar and is now ready to seek a new club. Before joining Velež, he spent the earlier part of his career in Slovenia, playing for Koper, Dekani, Zavrč, Aluminij, Rogaska, and Gorica.

As for the 18-year-old Faris Kadrić, he is a product of Sarajevo's Baton. He joined the ranks of Rođeni last summer, playing slightly more than Krajnc. He scored two goals in the country's cup, but it has been decided that he will also leave the club.

In addition to them, Muminović, Oreshkevich, and Vukčević have also left the club this winter. Goalkeeper Duka and defensive midfielder Čaić have joined so far.

KRANJC I KADRIĆ NAPUSTILI VELEŽ

FK Velež zvanično je potvrdio vijest kako dres ovog kluba više neće nositi Faris Kadrić i Alen Krajnc.

Alen Krajnc je u Mostar stigao ljetos i to iz Gorice kao slobodna igrač. U Mostaru se nije naigrao i sada je spreman potražiti novi klub. Dosadašnji dio karijere, odnosno onaj prije dolaska u Velež, proveo je u Sloveniji igrajući za Koper, Dekani, Zavrč, Aluminij, Rogasku i Goricu.

Što se tiče 18-godišnjeg Farisa Kadrića, on je dijete sarajevskog Batona. I on je u redove Rođenih stigao ljetos. On je igrao nešto više od Krajnca, postigao je i dva gola u kupu naše zemlje, no odlučeno je da i on napusti klub.

Osim njih, klub su ove zima napustili Muminović, Oreshkevich i Vukčević. Stigli su za sada golman Duka, te defanzivni veznjak Čaić.

VELEŽ STARTED WITH PREPARATIONS

Velež handball players began their preparations for the second half of the season last night. After an excellent streak in the fall season with a 6-0 record, the "Born Ones" took a well-deserved break. After a 20-day hiatus, they resumed the training process tonight. The initial phase will be followed by the basic part of preparations focused on physical fitness. Professor Adnan Ademović will be in charge of the team in this phase, responsible for the players' conditioning since the beginning of the season. Afterward, ball work will follow.

On February 4th, Velež will participate in a tournament in Kakanj, where they will compete against both Premier League teams and clubs from the federal league. The traditional Enisej Honđo Kole tournament, organized by our club, is scheduled for February 11th. So far, it is known that Sloga from Gornji Vakuf will join Velež in the tournament. The remaining two teams will be announced by the end of the week.

- Several players did not attend tonight's training due to obligations. Additionally, after a break for health reasons, young goalkeeper Madžid Mutilović has returned to us. The most important thing is that the team maintains continuity. Players want to continue with good performances in the spring. We have enough time to raise physical fitness to the required level and work with the ball, says Amer Denjo, one of the most experienced members who also serves as one of the coaches in the coaching staff.
