our last post created disagreements over whether we should thank the one who was the first to publish the same post. Although our post is not taken from the original post but from the x post, we are unable to thank the original author. For this reason, we have decided to remove the problematic post.

摺り足 Suriashi or sliding foot is very important method of moving (Ashi Sabaki) in Bujutsu. By sliding over floor we reduce chance to hurt our feet by stepping on tetsubishi or broken glass. On second video I have used marbles to demonstrate how foot will remove them instead step on them.

Seven Great Ninpo Tales (7) Togakushi Style
By Kiyonaga
Before that, it is an unrelated story, but the tourism industry I was involved in has been devastated by the influence of the corona, and I myself am in financial difficulties, so I would appreciate it if you could introduce me to a business that can be done from Japan.

I want to earn activity expenses for the development of the ninja industry.

Now let's go to the main subject.

First of all, it's a translation.
If you find a wrong part of the translation, please point it out in the comment section.

The secret of the seven great ninja tales (7) Togakushi Style: The secret is to defeat the enemy without hands.

[Togakushi-style ninja techniques to protect themselves]
 About 800 years ago, Nishina Taisuke, a remnant of Kiso Yoshinaka's party who had been beaten by Minamoto Yosh*tsune, fled to Iga, and in the mountains, he developed a unique Togakushi style of ninjutsu, including the use of water chestnuts (water chestnut-shaped shuriken) from the side of his sleeve.
 Because it is based on the Iga school, it is characteristic of the ninja to learn many martial arts called the Eight Noble Swords, and then to train in the ninja arts. The "Eight Noble Swords" are (1) Jujutsu, (2) Spearmanship, (3) Naginata-jutsu, (4) Stick-jutsu, (5) Shuriken-jutsu, (6) Ten Operations, (7) Chain Sickle-jutsu, and (8) Military Arts. The secret swords of the small taijutsu were also added to these. However, while the swordsmanship of the Iga Ninjas was for killing their enemies, the Togakushi school was a martial art to protect themselves safely.
 The character of "Door" in Togakushi school means to protect and "Hide" means not to make it public. As it is true, the true form of Togakushi school is to become a power behind the scenes, to protect the country, to protect the lord, to protect the family and to protect oneself. Therefore, the Togakushi ninja did not attack the enemy first even if they met, and fought and took away the fighting power of the opponent, and never killed him.
 For that reason, I invented and used a unique weapon ingeniously.
The "Kamagatatobidashiyari" was a round iron ring that would wrap around the enemy's neck and strangle him, and the "scythe" would catch the enemy's sword, pull the rope and throw him over his shoulder.
The demon's mask is coated with luminescent paint and spews flames and poisonous gas from a fire canister in its mouth.
The grappling hook is worn on both hands and used to climb trees and stones. You can also use the two-handed grappling hooks to catch the enemy's sword as it cuts into you, and then kick at its vital points to bring it down.
[The secret to defeating an enemy without hands
 However, the Togakushi school of thought was to defeat the enemy without these weapons and without hands. It is said that he could defeat even a tiger with one thumb. The "Bone Method", a special surgery using the body as the main weapon, and the "telekinesis", a technique of telekinesis to kill an enemy from a distance.
 An old ninja named Takamatsu Hisatsugu, the 33rd master of Togakushi style, could pierce even a thick board with just a straight thrust of his finger.
 He also has a telekinetic power that can knock down a flying fly or a mouse running on a beam with a single stare, leaving him unable to move. It is said that this telekinesis can even make them disappear.
 It would take an ordinary person 20 years to learn the Eight Noble Swords, but the Togakushi Ninjas had to train so hard that they had to do it within ten years. Otherwise, they would not be able to train in the ninja arts.
[The Three Training Styles of the Togakushi School]
 The practice of the ninja arts.
(1) Train to run on the ice in high clogs.
2. Trained to walk on the ice with high clogs, making no noise at all.
(2) Trained to carry four buckets with a balance stick and to run without spilling water from the bucket.
To be able to run at a speed of 120 km per day.
(3) Jumping up and kicking the trunk of a tree.
(3) Train to jump up and kick the tree trunks, starting from a low place and gradually increasing the height of the tree until you can fly more than 2 meters.
 These three are the basics of the Togakushi school of Ninjutsu. Once these skills are mastered, they are then used in more advanced techniques, such as the Five Fugue techniques, pyrotechnics, medicinal arts, and the use of ninja tools.
 The Togakushi school is currently being succeeded by the 34th generation of the Toogakushi school, Yoshiaki Hatsumi, who lives in Noda City, Chiba Prefecture.

Seven Great Ninpo Tales (2) Iga Style
Before that, I'd like to say something unrelated, but the tourism industry I was involved in has been devastated by the effects of the corona, and I'm in financial trouble myself, so I'd be very grateful if you could introduce me to some business that can be done in Japan.
Now let's get down to business.
First of all, let's start with the translation.
If you find any mistakes in the translation, please leave a comment and let me know.

The Seven Great Secret Stories of the Ninja (2) Iga Style: Using Special Skills for Independent Operations
[Jyo-nin and Ge-nin]
 The Iga school of ninja had a boss called the Jounin, and lower-ranked ninjas who worked under him.
 The most famous Jounin in the Warring States period were Momochi Sandayo, Fujibayashi Nagatonokami and Hattori Hanzo. Each of them had several hundred shinobi who lent money to feudal lords in various places and received payment for their services.
 The shinobi had to sneak into any dangerous enemy territory by order of the jounin, so they had to have special skills such as the art of five fugues and magic, and their swords had to be strong.
 Kido of Ondo, a dwarf of one meter and thirty feet tall, was skilled in the art of hiding and pyrotechnics.
 The Shikanmoku of Tsuge, who ate sixteen kilograms of raw rice at a time and was able to dive into the earth for more than twenty days.
 Aizenmyoo of Iwao, who was an expert in the art of sorcery and could dive for 15 minutes.
 Yamada's Hachiemon, a master of disguise, who could split his body into two parts.
 He was famous for his light body and skill at leaping and hiding in the trees.
Kendo is full of greats.
 The muscles of the wrists and arms had developed so well that it was easy to be disguised as a merchant. Therefore, the Koga ninja did not like to learn swordsmanship, but the Iga ninja were masters of swordsmanship that ordinary swordsmen could not match.
 When Oda Nobunaga attacked Iga, the Iga ninja Harada Kizo single-handedly cut down dozens of Nobunaga's soldiers, and Yamauchi saemon killed a ten-sworded warrior named Mochizuki Inotaro, who was wielding a large sword more than two meters long, with two swords. Both of these swords were used in a unique way to bend down to the ground and thrust down while running as if sliding.
"Hattori Hanzo, master of the secret ninja arts.
 Hattori Hanzo, one of the Jounin, who commanded 300 ninja troops of the Tokugawa shogunate, was also an expert in swordsmanship.
 A Koga ninja named Aoki Takean, who belonged to the Takeda family, once sneaked in to kill Tokugawa Ieyasu. As he came alone, Takean was a fearsome ninja. He defeated Iga ninja and fierce dogs one after another with poisonous blowguns and poisonous shuriken without letting anyone know that he was on guard, and finally he sneaked into the area near Ieyasu's bedchamber.
 There was a moat surrounding the sleeping quarters. The warnings were even stricter. Chikuan cunningly sank into the moat. He put the knotty bamboo in his mouth out to the surface of the water and breathed in, still watching the carelessness of the outside.
 Eventually, he nodded and walked to the bottom of the water and floated to the other side of the moat. A group of guarded warriors passed by. That was the moment he leapt up from the dig in a breath, taking advantage of the opportunity.
'We've been waiting for you,'
And then Hattori Hanzo, who stood there so numbly, was split from brain to a**s with a single sword.
 Hanzo, who had superpowers like human radar, knew exactly what Chikuan was going to do and waited for him to infiltrate, which no one else knew.
 The Iga School was also famous for its use of small animals such as rats and snakes, and for its ability to hypnotize its enemies and show them illusions. Hattori Hanzo was also a master of many secret ninja arts, such as the tying up of the enemy by moving a rope by itself, and the "Hundred Spears Jutsu", a technique in which a single spear could be seen as many as a hundred spears to defeat the enemy.
~~~~~~~
As a corollary.
There are ninja classes such as jounin and genin, but research in today's Japan argues that such a class never existed.
Also, the Iga Ninja Museum was built two years before this article was written.
The person who led the construction of this museum was "Heishichiro Okuse" who was the mayor of Iga Ueno city at that time.
He was a ninja researcher, and he actively led the ninja tourism in Iga after becoming the mayor.
I have visited Iga-Ueno city during my fieldwork, and I had an impression that the city has inherited and managed his ninja tourism as it was.
I think that's why his skills in managing ninja contents were so great.
By the way, the Karakuri-yashiki in the Iga Ninja Museum was once the Karakuri-yashiki house of a childhood friend of his, and it seems that the house was moved to the present location.
七大忍法秘話(2)伊賀流 ~特技をつかって単独作戦~
【上忍と下忍】
 伊賀流忍者は、上忍と呼ばれるボスと、その下で働く下忍があった。
 戦国時代の上忍で有名なのは、百地三太夫、藤林長門守、服部半蔵である。それぞれ数百人の下忍を持ち、あちこちの大名へ貸しては礼金を貰っていた。
 下忍は上忍の命令で、どのような危険な敵地へもひとりで忍び込まなければならない為、身を隠して、行動する五遁の術や、幻術などの特技を持ち、剣も強くなければならなかった。
 身長1メートル30の小人で隠れ身の術や火術の上手かった音羽の城戸。
 生米を一度に16キロ食べ、20日以上も土に潜る事ができた柘植の四貫目。
 幻術の名人で、15分も潜水できた岩尾の愛染明王。
 分け身をする程の変装の名人、山田の八右衛門。
 身が軽く、跳躍や、木隠れの術の上手かった下柘植の木猿などが有名である。
【剣道も偉人ぞろい】
 剣をやると、手首や腕の筋肉が発達し、商人などに変装しても見やぶられやすい。そこで、甲賀忍者は剣法を習う事を嫌ったが、伊賀忍者は、普通の剣士などではとても及ばぬ、剣の達人ぞろいだった。
 織田信長が伊賀を攻めたとき、伊賀忍者の原田木三は、ただひとりで信長の兵数十人を切り、また山内左衛門は、2メートル以上もある大刀を振り回す望月猪太郎という十人刀の勇士を二太刀でた倒した。いずれも、地上すれすれに身を屈め、滑る様に走りながら突き伏せる独特の剣法だ。
【秘密の忍法の名人 服部半蔵】
 上忍のひとりで、徳川幕府の忍者部隊三百人を指揮した服部半蔵も、剣術の達人だった。
 青木竹庵という武田家の甲賀忍者が、徳川家康を殺そうと忍び込んだ事がある。ひとりで来るだけあって、竹庵は恐るべき忍者だった。毒吹矢や毒手裏剣で、警護の伊賀忍者や猛犬を、誰にも気付かせず、次々と倒し、いよいよ家康の寝所近くまで潜入した。
 寝所を囲んで堀があった。警戒は一段と厳しい。竹庵は、ずるずると掘の中へ身を沈めた。口に咥えた節抜き竹を水面に出して呼吸しながら、じっと外の油断を見澄ます。
 やがて頷いた竹庵は、水底を歩き、堀の向こう岸へ浮かびあがった。警護の武士たちが通りすぎる。その隙を狙って、一息に掘から躍り上がった瞬間だった。
「待っていたぞ。」
と、ぬっと立ち塞がった服部半蔵に、脳天から肛門まで一太刀で立ち割られていた。
 人間レーダーの様な超能力を持っていた半蔵は、誰にも分からなかった竹庵の潜入を、ちゃんと知っていて待ち構えてのだ。
 この他、伊賀流は、ネズミやヘビなど、小動物を使う術、敵を催眠状態にして、幻を見せる幻術などで有名だった。服部半蔵も、ひとりでに、縄を動かして敵を縛る術や、一本の槍を百本にも見せて敵をやっつける「百本の槍の術」など、多くの秘密忍法の名人だった。
~~~~~~~
