Members and friends of the Yunta Race Club mourn the passing of staunch supporter, TREVOR WHITE (75) of Adelaide, after a short illness.

Trevor spent his early life in Yunta - and the district always remained his ‘spiritual home’.

Attending every local event he could was paramount to Trevor, who was particularly passionate about the continued success and development of the Yunta Race Club.

We will deeply miss Trevor’s presence at Yunta events, his cheery tales - and his willingness to always lend a hand. Trevor loved people and he shone a light upon all our lives.

Club members extend heartfelt sympathy to Elaine, Jessica, Benjamin and their extended family.

This is a great opportunity to connect with a doctor, nurses, and an OT through the RFDS.

A great turn out to our AGM last Saturday with a few new faces and our core regulars. We would like to introduce our YRC committee members and congratulate our newly appointed President, Alex MacLachlan.

As we welcome Alex MacLachlan as President of the Yunta Race Club, we’d also like to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to Nick Rasheed for his exceptional contribution as outgoing President.

Over the years, Nick has dedicated countless hours to improving our club, and his passion, vision and leadership have helped transform the Yunta Race Club into what it is today. His drive to continually improve the club has resulted in many lasting achievements, including the outdoor landscaping, the refreshed Y logo and club branding, the introduction of club memberships, the creation of our YRC beers and hard lemonade, the installation of the three-phase generator, and the addition of many great kitchen appliances that have made catering events so much easier - that’s just to name a few of his many achievements and contributions.

Nick’s commitment has gone far beyond the role of President. His enthusiasm, willingness to help and determination to see projects through have made a lasting difference to our club and community.

Nick, we thank you for everything you’ve done for the Yunta Race Club. Your hard work, generosity and leadership have left a legacy that we’re incredibly grateful for.

Congratulations to Alex as he steps into the role of President. We look forward to an exciting future for the Yunta Race Club under his leadership.

🌳 National Tree Day – Sunday 26 July 🌳

Join us tomorrow from 11:00am at the Yunta Race Club for National Tree Day 2026!

In conjunction with the North East Pastoral Landscape Group, the Yunta Race Club will be hosting a community tree planting day, and we’d love for you to come along.

Together we’ll be planting over 50 trees and shrubs across three different locations. Whether you can spare an hour or stay for the whole day, every helping hand makes a difference!

Please bring your own:

* 🧢 Hat
* 🧤 Gloves
* ☀️ Sunscreen
* 🪏 Gardening tools

There will be plenty of planting and pruning to do, so the more volunteers, the better!

Morning tea and lunch will be provided, and the bar will be open at the end of the day—a great way to relax and celebrate a job well done.
