This looks like a lovely idea - on tomorrow at the progress hall

Pop Up Cafe at Yorketown Progress Hall tomorrow!
Monday Aug 24, 10.30am-12.30pm

Some lovely young people would like to have a go at improving their work ready skills in the kitchen and serving customers - and we would love you to come along.

Our cafe menu includes delicious toasties, croissants, savoury quiches, soup & bread, as well as sweet treats like biscuits, cakes, bliss balls, milkshakes, hot drinks and more.

Everything on the menu will be $1 - $4 and we would really like to practise giving change so cash is best please.

All of the cafe proceeds will be donated to Yorketown Progress Association for their Lights at the Lake community event held later in the year - please come down tomorrow and support our local young ones, and our local Progress Association ✨

Micky Allen has taken on the HUGE task of putting together a digital historical database of the Southern Eagles — and we need the help of our football community to fill in some HUGE gaps!

We’re looking for the following football information from 1994 right through to the present day, across ALL grades:

Do you remember who coached or captained a particular team? Know who won a trophy in a certain year — or perhaps across multiple years? We’d love to hear from you!

Even if you only have a few names or a couple of years, please get in touch. You might have a piece of the Southern Eagles history that we’re missing.

A few weeks ago, I nominated Kathy as "Heart of the Community Volunteer", a Office of Sport and Recreation volunteer initiative. They asked for a photo and a short bio, and I thought Kathy might get highlighted and recognition on social media.

Late last week, however, I received an email inviting Kathy to attend a special function celebrating volunteers, and I was so excited to hear that she accepted the invitation. Tonight both Kathy and Peter went to the function and met the incredible speakers, Liz Ellis and Rory Sloane — how amazing is that!

This recognition is so incredibly well deserved. Kathy gives so much of her time, energy and heart to our club, and we are beyond grateful for everything she does. Thank you Kathy Bajcarz 😍
