A few weeks ago, I nominated Kathy as "Heart of the Community Volunteer", a Office of Sport and Recreation volunteer initiative. They asked for a photo and a short bio, and I thought Kathy might get highlighted and recognition on social media.

Late last week, however, I received an email inviting Kathy to attend a special function celebrating volunteers, and I was so excited to hear that she accepted the invitation. Tonight both Kathy and Peter went to the function and met the incredible speakers, Liz Ellis and Rory Sloane — how amazing is that!

This recognition is so incredibly well deserved. Kathy gives so much of her time, energy and heart to our club, and we are beyond grateful for everything she does. Thank you Kathy Bajcarz 😍

Thanks to our wonderful volunteers who keep the wheels turning on game day. We’re extremely grateful for your help.

I haven’t done the maths, but combined with the netball there must be at least 60 or more volunteers that help with the games and working in the canteen/bar and club. And then we also have those who donate their baked goods 😋

What an incredible community we have 🦅💙💛💚
