Let's talk about strength training... specifically, why you should be doing it!
There are so many benefits to strength training that it would blow your mind! It's especially important as we age, as it keeps our bodies young and our muscles, joints, and bones strong.
My favourite benefit, seen in both my training and that of my clients, is how amazing being strong feels! You should see the way people light up when they do something they never could before! It becomes addictive; you'll find yourself craving the movement more just to see how much you're capable of.
I hear people all the time say, "I don't want to lift weights; it will make me bulky." Let me just say, this is an absolute insult to every single person out there who is working their ass off to build muscle and look "bulky." It is not easy! It does not happen accidentally! It is just as hard, if not harder than weight loss for a lot of people. You will not get "bulky" unless you are trying to. Stop using it as an excuse.
Strength training can be done in many ways; you don't have to spend hours in the gym or do endless deadlifts or bench presses.
