🎉 Front Page News! 🎉

If you squint… you might just spot two familiar faces on the front page of The Yea Chronicle — our Tournament Director Matt Noonan and our Club President Teresa Smith sneaking their way into print.

But the real headline for us?
Kimm Noonan — officially a winner!

Anyone who came through the Easter Tournament already knew this. You tasted it. Her roast rolls with homemade coleslaw, her famous sausage rolls, her delicious scones… the stuff of local legend. And now it’s in black and white for the whole town to see.

A huge congratulations to Kimm — the heart of our kitchen, the calm behind the chaos, and the reason so many players and families walk away talking about “that food”.

🎾 Junior Social Tennis – This Sunday at 9am!

A great way to close out the school holidays — our junior social tennis session is on again this Sunday at 9am.

• Members: Free
• Non‑members: $5

Junior Social is normally unsupervised, but this week we have a special guest running some fun activities, so it’s the perfect week to come along for a hit.

To help us plan, please reserve your spot by sending a private message with your child’s name and phone number.

What an incredible weekend for the Yea Easter Tennis Tournament — huge thanks to everyone who played, watched, volunteered, cooked, cheered and supported the club. The atmosphere was amazing and we’re so proud of what our little community pulled off.

🎾 97th Yea Easter Tournament – That’s a Wrap! 🎾

What an incredible four days of tennis, community spirit, and country hospitality. The 97th Yea Easter Tournament delivered sunshine, big crowds, tight matches, and plenty of smiles — and we couldn’t be prouder of everyone who took part.

A huge congratulations to all our champions and runners‑up across Singles, Doubles, Mixed, Juniors, and every grade. The standard of tennis was outstanding, and the sportsmanship on display was even better. Thank you to every player who travelled, competed, and brought such great energy to the courts.

This event simply wouldn’t happen without the people behind the scenes.
To our volunteers — from the kitchen and canteen crews to the court supervisors, set‑up and pack‑down teams, raffle organisers, and everyone who jumped in wherever needed — thank you. Your time, effort, and good humour keep this tournament running smoothly year after year.

To our generous sponsors and local businesses, thank you for backing this event and supporting our community. Your contributions to prizes, raffle items, and supplies make a huge difference and help us continue delivering a tournament that players love returning to.

And to the spectators, families, and supporters who filled the club across the long weekend — thank you for creating such a welcoming atmosphere.

As we wrap up our 97th year, we’re already looking ahead to the big milestone of the 98th Easter Tournament in 2027. Until then, thank you for being part of something special.

🎾💚 Final Day of the Yea Easter Tennis Tournament! 💚🎾

We’re into the home stretch of a huge weekend of tennis. A slight rain delay slowed things down this morning, but courts are back in action and everything’s running smoothly again.

Our juniors are still out there competing, playing some fantastic tennis as they work through their final matches.

The finals trophies are polished and ready for this afternoon’s presentations, and there’s plenty of great tennis still to come as we wrap up an amazing Easter weekend at the club.

Canteen’s open (the homemade scones are epic), weather’s holding, and the atmosphere is brilliant.

Day 3 of the Yea Easter Tennis Tournament has been another brilliant day on the courts — including an unexpected pause in play as our resident magpie family bravely chased off a wedge‑tail eagle overhead. Only in Yea.

We were also delighted to welcome The Honourable Cindy McLeish MP to the club today — always great to have her support for our community event.
