Morning Phantoms,

With Court 7 and 8 in use on Saturday, we are now back to our regular scheduled training roster. Any 45min trainings now revert back to the regular hour.

ROUND 9… LET’S MAKE IT A SLAM DUNK! 🔥🏀

🏀❤️ THIS IS WHAT JUNIOR BASKETBALL IS ALL ABOUT. ❤️🏀

We received the most beautiful message from the coach of an opposing U8 girls team following their game against our 8.2 girls, and we couldn’t be prouder.

Her team was playing just their 8th ever game and, for many of the girls, their first season of basketball. They were still finding their confidence on court, with some feeling overwhelmed and hesitant to get involved.

But what happened next had nothing to do with the scoreboard…

Our 8.2 coach and a parent noticed two of the girls struggling to stay on court. Rather than simply playing on, they suggested putting all six of their girls on court together so everyone could be involved.

Then, in the second half, our girls lined up along the baseline and gave the opposition space to bring the ball up, dribble and have a shot.

And they scored TWO GOALS! 🥹🏀

The excitement and pride on those girls’ faces was something their coach said she would never forget.

“What this team showed our girls was that basketball isn’t just about winning, scoring or being the more experienced team.”

“It’s about kindness, encouragement, inclusion and giving others the confidence to keep trying.”

And that’s exactly what we want our junior players to learn. ❤️

A huge congratulations to our 8.2 girls, their coach and families for showing such wonderful sportsmanship, patience and kindness.

You didn’t just play a game on Saturday — you helped make someone else fall a little more in love with basketball.

Evening Phantoms,

For all families attending games at CBS this weekend, please be aware that the Diamond Creek Rotary Fair is on this Saturday. Not only does this mean that traffic into the stadium will be incredibly hectic, but the Parade will also be travelling down Main-Hurstbridge Road and into Coventry Oval from 9:45-11am.

𝗪𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 how much you need to consider your travel time and route when making your way to games at Community Bank Stadium. Please leave as much additional time as possible..
