The Alberton Football Netball League Trainers Association was formed to help, inform & to educate Sports Trainers in the Gippsland Region to help promote a healthy safe environment for those that play Aussie Rules Football and Netball. This page is dedicated to those people that give up their time to make the sports we have grown up with to be enjoyed by all that are involved watching a sport on the weekend some people call us the forgotten people with the thankless tasks and training nights but we love doing it just the same. Warning this page has serious and funny sides to being a Sports Trainer in the field. Note: It's with deep sadness that after 30 years of associated partnership with the Alberton Football Netball League has now been placed into the History books of Time we have also had no other option but to put the Alberton Trainers Association into recess.

Congratulations Griff on your 300 Senior Games, have a great day mate 🟥⬜️🟥👍😁👍

The GOAT 🐐 and our club vice-president Griffin Underwood plays his 300th senior game for YFNC this Saturday and 349th club game 👏🏻❤️🤍

This game will mark the equal club record for senior games alongside legend Chris Bruns - meaning next game Griff will officially take the record for senior games played and will also be 350 club games - WOW!

That’s not all - during this time he’s kicked 246 goals, won 11 club senior best and fairests and 3 league best and fairests.

This is an incredible achievement that he should be very proud of - as we certainly are 👏🏻

From starting at the club as a little curly head kid in fourths he then went on to play all his local football at Yarram aside from his time playing for a range of Melbourne and interstate clubs where he was awarded 2 x All Australian medals for player of the tournament in the national country championships. He then returned to coach, assistance coach, play and now become a club stalwart.

Thank you for your service to the club Griff - we’re all very proud of this achievement and can’t wait for many more now that you’re out of ‘retirement’ 😉

Former Essendon player and Demons coach Neale Daniher has died, aged 65. He was diagnosed with motor neurone disease in 2013 and campaigned to raise awareness of the disease and increase research.
