This week’s Volunteer Spotlight is proudly sponsored by Yarragon Community Pharmacy
Volunteer: Geoff Jolly
When it comes to dedication to the Yarragon Football Netball Club, it’s hard to go past Geoff Jolly.
Geoff’s involvement with the club spans over 50 years, starting his junior football journey in 1975 before making his senior debut in 1979. Geoff played 259 senior games before retiring in 1997.
Geoff has held numerous leadership positions within the club, including Junior Club President (2006–2009), Senior Club Vice President (2011) and President (2012–2017). He also coached our Under 16s, guiding the side to a Grand Final in 2010 before leading them to a Premiership in 2011.
Geoff played a significant role in the development of the club’s former social rooms, helping deliver both the bar area and function room expansions, and was deservedly recognised as a Life Member for his incredible service.
These days, Geoff is still one of the first people at the club every home game. You’ll find him on the gate from 7:30am, greeting members and supporters as they arrive. Once the football starts, he takes on his role as strapper for the footballers, always willing to help the boys get out on the ground and perform at their best.
The countless hours Geoff has dedicated to Yarragon over the decades have helped shape the club into what it is today. We are incredibly fortunate to have people like Geoff who continue to give back year after year.
Thank you, Geoff, for your outstanding service and commitment to the Yarragon Football Netball Club. 🖤🤍🩵
