*Mindful eating; self control is number one (don’t be controlled by desire for food). In moments of temptation, ask yourself, would you prefer that piece of cake now or to reach your goal weight sooner? (Short term gratification versus longer term success!) The feeling you get when you restrain yourself from temptation is amazing! Try it a few times and it builds on itself, ie. your resolve increases as you feel better and better about being in control! Ask yourself, what am I eating for? Hunger or habit? Each time you feel like eating when you shouldn’t, try a distraction, eg. Do some stretches, pelvic floor exercise, squats. Cleaning your teeth also sends a clear message to your brain that eating is finished.
