Week 7 is here & we are excited.
🩵🥳
This week we’ll continue creating opportunities for our swimmers to try, explore, succeed and sometimes even fail safely before trying again. Every smile, every brave attempt and every new skill adds another layer to their confidence.
🐟🐠🐬
Because confident children become capable swimmers, and capable swimmers are safer in and around the water.

One small step at a time. 🌊🐟

Every week we gather in the water and do what probably looks quite simple from the outside.

We sing songs.
We repeat the similar movements & muscle patterns.
We play, laugh and celebrate tiny moments that many people would never notice.

But that’s where the magic is.

A child who wouldn’t leave their parent’s arms starts reaching for a teacher.
A hesitant kick becomes a purposeful one.
A nervous face softens into a smile.

Swimming isn’t built in one big moment. It’s built through hundreds of small ones.

The trust, the confidence, the connection and the willingness to keep trying all come before the skill.

And when those foundations are there, the swimming has a way of taking care of itself. 💙🌊

I think the feeling in this photo is less about the bucket and more about the ownership.

“I can do it myself.”

And that’s exactly what we’re aiming for.

Not children who rely on us, but children who gradually discover what they’re capable of.

Every time a child chooses to pour the water, hold the wall, attempt a swim or try again after being unsure, they’re building something far greater than a swimming skill.

They’re building belief in themselves.

And that confidence tends to follow them well beyond the pool. 💙🌊

We expect a lot in our lessons.

Not because we want things perfect.

Because water deserves respect.

Because our swimmers deserve to feel capable, confident and safe when they’re out there in the real world.

Every challenge, every repeat, every little skill we ask of them has a purpose behind it.

We expect a lot so our swimmers can build skills that stay with them for life.

Skills that may one day help keep them safe.

And skills that allow them to enjoy the water for what it should be — fun, freedom and confidence. 🌊💙

Do we get bored singing the same songs every week? 🎵

Never.

Those little songs are doing so much more than filling in time.

They help our little fish know what’s coming next. They create safety, routine, comfort and confidence — especially in the water, where not every child feels brave straight away.

Before children can always follow instructions, they often recognise the song, the rhythm, the moment and what we’re about to do next.

And then one day, that little person who has been watching quietly for weeks suddenly joins in, splashes, floats, kicks or tries the skill they weren’t ready for before.

They weren’t doing nothing.
They were learning the whole time.

To grown-ups, it might sound like the same song again.

To a child, it’s another chance to feel safe enough to try 💙

🌊 Welcome to Week 6!

This week’s focus is Independence.

We’ll be encouraging children to show us the skills they’ve been developing all term — holding the wall, floating, kicking, listening, and swimming with growing confidence.

For parents, this is a great opportunity to step back, offer encouragement, and watch your child put their learning into action. The biggest growth often comes when children realise, “I can do this.”

We can’t wait to see our Little Fish swimmers shine this week. 💙🐟

Every little swimmer who comes through our doors has their own story, their own confidence level & their own pace. Our role isn’t just to teach a skill — it’s to understand the little person in front of us.

Some children need encouragement.
Some need patience.
Some need a moment to feel safe.
Some simply need someone who believes in them before they believe in themselves.

This is where the magic happens ✨

The conversations, the smiles, the gentle reassurance, the small adjustments that no one else sees — these are the moments that build confident swimmers.

At Little Fish we are forever learning too — supporting each other, growing our teachers & creating an environment where children feel seen, supported & celebrated.

Because swimming is so much more than learning to move through water…

It’s confidence.
It’s connection.
It’s trust.

And it is an absolute privilege to be a small part of every child’s journey 💙🐟

Growth doesn’t always happen loudly.

Over the past year, Miss Carina has quietly shown up, put in the work and continued saying “yes” to opportunities that push her outside her comfort zone. Through training, qualifications and hours spent poolside learning from those around her, she has steadily grown in both knowledge and confidence.

Carina has a softness about her that children naturally respond to. She takes the time to notice the little things, offers encouragement when it’s needed most and helps create an environment where families feel welcomed and supported.

Her journey is still unfolding, but one thing is already clear & that’s her kindness, patience and willingness to learn make her a valued part of the Little Fish family. 💙🐠

💙 Meet Miss Mel 💙

For more than two years, Miss Mel has proudly led our preschool program, becoming a familiar, trusted face for so many Little Fish families.

What makes Mel so special isn’t just the skills she teaches — it’s the way she sees every child as an individual. She takes the time to understand their personalities, celebrate their wins, and gently support them through the challenges. Whether a child needs extra encouragement, a different approach, or simply a little more time, Mel always meets them where they are.

Behind the scenes, Mel is constantly learning and growing. She has developed her own lesson planning systems, actively engages with our online training platforms, and continually looks for new ways to make learning meaningful, fun, and effective for every swimmer in her care.

Mel has also become an incredible mentor to our assistant teachers, helping guide them into the capable, caring, and supportive leaders our Little Fish families know and love.

As a business owner, having someone like Mel by my side is invaluable. She is the backbone of our preschool program, a trusted support to me, and a huge part of the culture and values that make Little Fish what it is today.

Thank you, Mel, for the care, commitment, patience, and heart you bring to our community every single day. We are incredibly lucky to have you as part of the Little Fish family. 🐠✨

There comes a point in every small business owner’s journey where you have to trust someone else to help carry the vision you’ve poured your heart into. Welcome -Miss Dani.

To watch her step into a role that has only been mine has been both emotional and incredibly rewarding. She leads our infant program with a quiet confidence, a gentle nature and a genuine love for the families she teaches. Her calm presence has a way of settling nervous little ones, reassuring parents and creating a space where children feel safe enough to learn, explore and grow.

What I admire most is that Dani doesn’t try to teach like me—she teaches like herself. With soft movements, warm encouragement and endless patience, she has developed her own beautiful way of connecting with children and families. The trust she builds, the smiles she creates and the confidence she nurtures in our littlest swimmers is something truly special.

As a business owner, there is no greater gift than watching someone care for your families as if they were their own. Dani does exactly that.

I couldn’t be prouder of the teacher she has become, and I know the future of our program is in caring, capable and incredibly kind hands.

Well done Miss Dani.

💙 Jasmine
