We are into the second half of the footy season and only those pesky Panthers are clear leaders on the pointscore board. The Kiwis were up there with them but have had a few losses and now they are only just in front of a few teams . It would be wonderful to see the Phins in the grand finals. They are such an exciting young team to watch, shame Katoa is going to Storm next year, could be worse and he goes to Roosters.
As for the local tipping score board, Paul T has made a move and is now equal first with Cameron P on 78pts. Steve P is second on 74pts and Graeme R 73pts. Not that far behind we have Kerry D, Maree H and David C on 71pts. Sitting on 69pts is Christine R. Come on girls.
It will be interesting to see who refs this week's state of Origin. Klien has been in the news for his race betting on the side. Did he ever have a sneaky bet on any footy matches he refed. Just wondering. Maroons, Ponga is also in the news for his tackling style which has taken a few players at of the action and also his taking of the high ball with his feet kicking out at any player nearby. Both very dangerous. Go the Blues.
Wed has state of Origin, Thurs night sees the U19 state of Origin and Friday night kicks of Rd 15 with Knights against Dragqueens . On paper this should be a win for Knights. Tigers play Phins in the first of the Sat games. Phins for me. Next up poor Titans take on pesky Panthers and last game for the night has Doggies taking on mighty Manly. No guesses who I'm going for.
Three games for Sunday starting with Kiwis at home to C'girls. Should be a Kiwi win but it's anybody's guess. Next up Storm at home to Raiders, this is the T.V game and lastly Roosters play Sharkies. This result will depend on which players are able to back up from State of Origin. Broncos, Eels and Rabbits have the bye.
Score boards can be checked in Lochie's butcher shop and the main street bottlo. Tips in before kickoff Friday night but don't be shy about getting them in earlier, makes my life easier. Good luck to your team and go mighty Manly. Till next week, Sea eagle Sue.
