Tomorrow night all. The Bowlo season is back on deck. Wanna Roll, don’t hesitate. New bowlers more than welcome.
Come along n enjoy yourself and break into a sport for anyone. It use to be an oldies. But no more! An average age of a pro lawn bowler is in the low twenties. So, there’s bloody hope for all of us.

A quick reminder that training for the 26/27 season commences this Thursday 3rd September commencing at 4 pm. Please come along, dust off the bowls and catch up with your fellow bowlers.

Social and Player Memberships are also now due.
Player Membership Fee is $120.

Early reminder, that this the Friday night we all love down at the Bowlo.
It’s the night we welcome the Angling Club to hold their massive 8 meat tray raffle.
We open the bar at 4pm and Deano sells his tickets at $2 each or 3 for $5, from 5pm until 7pm when he draws all the prizes.
Happy hour is from 4-6 and beers are $4. I know ya doin’ nothin’, so come on down and have the time of ya life with loads of fun, frivolity and friendship.
Be there or ya miss out on memories being made.

Looks like a nice day today so there’s no reason not to pop on down to the Bowlo from 4pm for an afternoon/evening of fun, frivolity, fine refreshment, beautiful finger food and most of all The Angling Club’s monthly Meat tray raffle. A minimum of a variety of 8 meat trays.
Tickets are $2 each or 3 for $5, they are on sale from 5pm until they are drawn at 7pm.
The warm and friendly atmosphere is top hole, the bar staff will welcome you with a cold refreshment at happy hour prices between 4 and 6pm.

So there’s ya go! There’s proof that there is nowhere else ya should be other than ‘THE BOWLO’

With the 26/27 bowls season just around the corner, a big welcome to all bowlers and members.
Please see below some important dates leading up to the start of the season.

YNBC Annual General Meeting. Thursday 13 August at 5 pm.
Working Bee: Sunday 16 August at 10 am.
Training Commences: Thursday 3 September at 4 pm.
Barry Shield: Saturday 10 October.
Round 1 Midweek Pennant: Tuesday 13 October.
Round 1 Saturday Pennant: Saturday 17 October.

I encourage everyone to get involved with our club and please help out where possible. If you have any questions / suggestions / ideas, please feel free to discuss them with your Club Executive or Committee.

Friday morning we lost a wonderful member of our Club in Noel Connelly.
He passed peacefully at a the Maryvale Hospital after a short cancer illness.

One of Noel’s greatest bowls achievements was to win his first and only Club Championship at YNBC aged 90/91. He simply loved the honour and the Club, stating often that he wished he had joined our Club earlier.

Noel was a great bloke, with great stories, great wisdom, great imparter of skill n knowledge of everything bowls, along with life and great sense of humour.
Above all, ‘what a man’. Hated a pie n beer after a game.

Suffering over mate and your time to Rest on dear friend, the Club was a better place for having spent your final years enlightening us all.
Noel was loved by all within, and without, and will be sadly missed by all.

There is always someone in a Club that is loved and respected by every member, one who has never had a bad word said about them nor he for anyone.
Noel! That person was you!
