And just like that… the regular season is DONE! 💥
What a way to finish! We’ve got two teams heading into the semifinals, while our other two teams unfortunately fell just short of securing a playoff spot.
But before we look ahead, let’s take a look at how the Magpies finished Round 17! 🖤🤍
🥎 C GRADE BLACK — 10 DEF. ROOS GOLD — 9
WHAT. A. COMEBACK! 🔥🔥🔥
Trailing 9–3 heading into the final inning, the Magpies refused to throw in the towel.
They dug deep, found another gear and exploded for SEVEN RUNS to turn the game on its head and take a 10–9 lead! 😱
Then came the hard part…
The boys held their nerve in the bottom half of the inning, shutting down Roos Gold and securing an absolutely thrilling one-run victory!
A huge win at exactly the right time. 💪
They head into their semifinal next week full of confidence, momentum and ready to SWOOP! 🦅
🥎 C GRADE WHITE — 9 DEF. BY WOLVES — 11
A tightly fought contest from start to finish.
The Magpies battled hard and refused to give up, pushing Wolves all the way to the final out. Unfortunately, they fell agonisingly short 9–11.
While the result wasn’t what we wanted, there is plenty to be proud of. This team has improved enormously throughout the season, and the foundations are there to come back even stronger next year. 👏
🥎 B GRADE — 14 DEF. BY WOLVES — 22
A tough one, but what a fightback!
Wolves came out firing, jumping to a 14–2 lead after just two innings.
But did the Magpies give up?
Absolutely not. 💪🖤🤍
The boys dug deep and clawed their way back into the contest, scoring NINE runs to bring the deficit back to just three!
Unfortunately, Wolves managed to find another gear late, scoring eight more runs to put the game beyond reach.
But the story doesn’t end here…
Because guess who the Magpies face next week? 👀
WOLVES.
It’s do-or-die semifinal time, and the boys will be hungry for revenge! 🔥🔥
🥎 A GRADE — 9 DEF. BY WOLVES — 18
A tough way to finish the regular season.
Wolves came out of the blocks quickly and built an early lead that the Magpies just couldn’t quite reel back in.
But, as they have done all season, the team continued to fight right until the end. They dug deep over the final few innings and left absolutely nothing on the diamond.
The numbers and results might not have gone our way this year, but one thing never changed — the smiles, the laughter, the fight and the commitment. 🖤🤍
Every game was played with heart, and every player can hold their head high knowing they gave it everything.
