🔥 BIG NEWS FROM THE RATS! 🔥

A huge congratulations to Kris Honor-Wilson on his selection in the Country Championships Representative Team set to compete at the Asia-Pacific Water Polo League U23 Tournament! 🌏🏐

Fresh off helping the NSW Country Men take out the Australian Country Championships, Kris has now earned his place amongst the best country water polo players in Australia.

This is an incredible achievement and one that reflects the hard work, dedication and commitment Kris has put into his water polo over many years.

We couldn’t be prouder to see one of our own pulling on the representative cap and taking his game to the international stage.

🏆 COUNTRY CHAMPS REPRESENT 🏆

Last week, Kris, Hunter, Lexie and Amali proudly represented NSW Country at the Australian Country Championships in Ballarat — and what a tournament it was! 💙

Both the Men’s and Women’s teams fought their way into the Grand Finals after an incredible week of water polo, showcasing determination, skill and true country pride throughout the competition. 💪🌊

The Men’s side, featuring Kris and Hunter, came away as Australian Country Champions after an outstanding Grand Final performance 🥇🔥

The Women’s side, with Lexie and Amarli, went goal-for-goal in an intense decider, narrowly going down in the final moments to finish as runners-up 🥈👏

We’re incredibly proud to see our Wyong players competing on the national stage and representing NSW Country with such passion and sportsmanship. Congratulations to all four players on an amazing tournament! 🤍💙

2025/26 Wyong Water Polo Major Awards

🏊 Spencer Farley Club Spirit Award | Bella Boulton & Josh Robertson

This year we introduced a new award; the Spencer Farley Club Spirit Award, honouring the memory of our mate Spencer, who showed up for this club with the biggest smile going, even when things were incredibly tough.

For its inaugural year, we couldn't split two members who embody everything this award stands for. Always at training, always helping, always showing up for their teammates and a huge part of why our Flippa Ball kids love coming to the pool each week.

We would like to thank Spencer's parents, Lou and Rob, who allowed us to name this award after their son and were also on hand to present the trophy in it's first year.

🏊 Senior Club Person of the Year | Dion Cushway

First one there, last one to leave. Every great photo on our socials? That's Dion; sitting out the first quarter of his own games to make sure the club has the shots it needs, and heading to away games just to support the teams. He organised the little sports cards the juniors received at Presentation, fills any gap that needs filling, and led our Laps for Life campaign for Youth Mental Health raising over $3,000 this season.

2025/26 Wyong Water Polo Major Awards

🏊 Junior Club Person of the Year | Grace Bonvino

Coaching, refereeing, BBQs, set-up, pack-up. Grace did it all this season. She gave up her weekends to be at tournaments, was the only CCWP winning coach this year, and even designed and made the plates for our Wyong Cup prizes. A member who has grown in and out of the pool.

She's been at the top of Central Coast water polo for years and this season she took it to another level. An Australian Youth Title and a debut for the Hunter Hurricanes in National League. Young, talented, and just getting started.

🏊 Most Improved | Colin Wishart

This season we welcomed over 20 new players into our senior ranks and one stood out. Colin jumped straight in, soaked up everything the game had to offer, put his hand up for 2nds when needed, and helped the club however he could off the deck too. A first season to be proud of.

What a season it has been for the 25/26 season at Wyong Water Polo! 💙🐀

Last weekend, we came together to celebrate an incredible year at our Presentation Night — recognising the achievements, memories, and hard work of everyone involved in our club. From our youngest juniors to our senior players, coaches, referees, volunteers, and families, this season was one to remember.

This year saw Wyong represented all over the state and country, with teams and players attending:
🏆 Canberra Cup
🏆 Junior & Senior Country Clubs
🏆 The Big Orange U12s
🏆 Banana Bowl
🏆 Australian Youth Championships
🏆 Byron Fast 5s

We also proudly hosted some massive events of our own, including the Wyong Cup Fast 5s Tournament and the return of the Rat Cup — bigger and better in 2026 with both Men’s and Women’s matches between the OG Coasties and Imports! 💥

A huge congratulations to all of our teams this season, especially our two Grand Final teams, with our U12 White team finishing the year as GOLD MEDALISTS! 🥇👏

A massive shoutout as well to Dion Cushway for creating and photographing the incredible player cards for our junior teams this season. Your dedication, creativity, and care towards the club is truly unmatched, and the effort you put in behind the scenes does not go unnoticed 📸💙

Most importantly, thank you to every player, coach, referee, volunteer, sponsor, and supporter who made this season possible. The growth of our club both in and out of the pool has been incredible to watch, and we can’t wait to build on it again next season.

Keep your eyes peeled… 👀

Join us on THIS SATURDAY at Wyong Bowling Club as we come together to celebrate the season. All ages and grade will be under one roof, recognising and celebrating the efforts and achievements of our entire club.
