Could someone ask the weather to ease up a bit? Trout are fun to catch!, but I’d do anything for a fresh feed of gem fish or blue eye!

I hope everyone is just as excited about trout opening as I am! Only a few sleeps to go before we all get stuck into them!

If you haven’t had your gear out for a long time it’s a good idea to grease up your reels and make sure all your hooks are needle sharp!

We have been lucky on the north west with some half decent weather for the long weekend. Didn’t quite get the tide right last night but was happy finding a few of these tasty guys.

Had a very cool experience out on the shelf today while dropping for blue eye trevalla and gem fish.
I had pulled a three way gem fish hook up on the electric reel and right behind it coming like a steam train was a striped marlin! Estimated to be around 150kg! He hung around the boat for a bit eyeing off the gem fish but slowly disappeared when he realised I wanted the fish more than him 🤣

I will check the footage later and see how much I got of him 🔥🎣
