2026 Season Wrap Up!
Our 2026 Winter Season wrapped up on Saturday, was a great day with the weather holding up for us AND some awesome softball on display.
Firstly, thank you to everyone who participated in the season whether on the diamond, officiating games, managing teams or supporting from the sidelines, you made it the success it was and we are grateful to have both returning and new members joining us for what was another awesome season.
Secondly, to our small team of volunteers who prepare the grounds, run the canteen, do the fixtures, paperwork, and admin – it doesn’t happen without you – we all appreciate everything you do each and every week.
To the blues, games can’t go ahead without you so a special shout out and thank you go you for umpiring across the season – the teams appreciate less club duties, so thank you!
And now, for the results, and what a day it was for finals!!
The women’s grand final: was played between Te Arohanui v Brisbane Giants Red with Brisbane Giants Red taking home the Premiership.
The men’s grand final: was played between Te Arohanui Blue v Brisbane Giants with Te Arohanui Blue taking home the Premiership.
Players of the grand final:
Women – Zali Summers (Giants Red)
Men – Regan O’Neill (Te Arohanui Blue)
MVPs for the season (as per the 3, 2, 1 points allocated after games each week)
Women – Madison Scott (Te Arohanui)
Men – we had joint winners being James Allen and Cooper Nitschke (both from Te Arohanui White)
A huge congratulations to all our winners both team and individual awards this season.
Thank you again to everyone who was part of our season this year, you all make it the success it was with the family feel and great competition. Clubs, keep an eye out for details around summer comp and of course, winter again in 2027!
Lastly, whilst still on the committee for another few months, this was the last fixture day for both Chris and Tippy and we want to acknowledge all the time and care they have put into WSA over many, many years. Their efforts are immense and immeasurable – there are no words that we can use to thank them enough for everything they have done for our members. Thank you to you both from all of our members, both past and present. You will be missed beyond measure…perhaps after a break we may see you back (😊 🙏🫶).
