Karate update for 2026 Easter holidays.

We will be running classes on Wednesdays during the school holidays 6pm & 7pm all welcome.

Wynnum Wets State School opposite Wynnum Plaza.

Welcome Back To SKA

Hi All,

Welcome Back to Karate 2026, we have missed you all and hope you had a wonderful break.

Our plans moving forwards.

1) We start classes at Wynnum West this week
Classes will be on as usual this week, except Australia Day as it’s a Public Holiday and Saturday won’t be on.

Tuesday 5pm, 6pm & 7pm
Thursday 5pm, 6pm & 7pm
Friday 5pm, & 6pm
Sunday at 10.00am

Moving forward Classes at Wynnum West will be on

Monday 5pm, 6pm & 7pm
Tuesday 5pm, 6pm & 7pm
Thursday 5pm, 6pm & 7pm
Sunday 10am

Liz’s class continues

Wellington Point Classes Will begin Next week Tuesday 4th February and will continue at

Tuesdays 6:30pm

These measures are in place to keep us viable. The school has raised our rent by 50%.
With so many classes last year we had many classes with small numbers and two instructors, we believe less classes with larger numbers will be more exciting for our members.

2) Its registration time again, there are some changes.
Your SKA Registration is going back down to $100. However
The National Body change policy Karate Australia wants to collect the $27.50 to come from you one the date you/or you child joined joined. It includes their insurances for you and your children, and running costs for the National Body.

You will and receive an Email from Karate Austrralia when its due.

3) Due to rising costs, we will need to lift our class prices slightly to $22.00

4) I am pleased to say, I will be coming back to classes this term at first to partake, and assist.
I will need time to adjust as I recover.

5) Karate Queensland will have a tournament on 21 February, I will also put this in facebook.

Every Blackbelt in our Organisation is working hard to give you the best outcomes we are all proud of the work you put in last year.

If there is a large group of people still wanting to pre grade I am happy to run one tomorrow at 6pm.

If there is only a small amount they could just run through it with their regular instructor this week.

Further News!

Trees are down across a number of streets. Paris only just made it home. Power lines are down near the school and many other area please stay safe stay home tonight.

To all Sports Karate Australia Participants, Clinton has ring me and we have discussed the storm and hail, some the size of baseballs, and the extreme weather and winds,

For now we are cancelling the classes and grading tonight, for safety reasons.

Please pass this on to others.

If the situation changes please check this page. We I’ll let you know.

To Parents,

The School gate is having trouble with the “Hold” function.

Please enter by the fence gate to the left of the electric school Gate.

Parents students, can park in the pickup Zone for now. And the car park further down the hill closer to the plaza and fire brigade.

Also i will be taking Saturday classes 22nd November no classes on Saturdays after that as I’m away the next weekend and practice gradings and gradings are scheduled.

GRADING DATES

Hi All,

My Apologies.

Personally, I’m currently in Penrith looking after my 90yo mother, who recently had a stroke, she is recovering but slowly.

I’ve asked senior Sensei’s Clinton and Paris to run the practice grading and the grading.

This will be part of their assessment for their 4th Dan Gradings. Both are exceptional instructors.

I expect to be present at the grading myself, if possible.

Hi All,

Quick update.

WYNNUM West State School has advised that due to school activities and repairs to the dojo will not be accessible

4th week term 3 Friday 8th & Saturday 9th no Karate Classes.

The works were delayed and continue on Friday and Saturday.

Sadly no karate classes again this Friday and Saturday.
