Top Fuel - Nitro update.

Well what a mixed few days it was. Working a 10 hour day, travel 4 1/2 hours to the track to be denied entry at 9.15pm. Thanks NDRC - National Drag Racing Championship for thinking of sportsman racers travelling to a National event 🤬🤬.
40 minute drive and a big thankyou to Miranda Jane for the lounge for the night!!
First qualifier and went to put my foot on right hand foot peg after the finish line and no peg. Quick chat to track crew and they were on the search.
A huge thankyou to Robert Simmonator Simmonds and his random parts toolbox and Adrian Watson and his random nut. We now had a temporary footpeg 👌🏽👌🏽
Second qualifier and the awsome track crew returned my foot peg after finding it had taken a random adventure up the side of the hill.
First illimination I managed a reasonable reaction time and ran a 9.51 on a 9.47 dial in rolling off the throttle just before the line.
Second illimination I decided to dial a 9.43 and run hard but the weather and track had other ideas and that was first event over.
Saturday our qualifer kept getting pushed back til late afternoon and it wasn't great with a red light, wheelstand and a 9.7 run.
Sunday morning we had our first illimination and no idea what the bike was going to run.
I dialled a 9.60, sadly Albi Davidson had bike issues and I went past him at half track with my bike on a mission so I rolled of crossing the line with a 9.89@111.
Sadly the schedule kept getting moved mutiple times and at 6.30pm the event was cancelled and we didn't finish illiminations.
Cogratulations to Anastazia Luckie for her first christmas tree and winning Junior Dragbike on Friday!!!!
Thankyou to Ron Welch and all Sydney Dragway crew who made the weekend as good as it could be under not very good circumstances!!!!

Was a very quiet 2023 on the racing side of life but was a very hectic eventful 2023 overall.
IHRA Australia having no bike insurance for the last part of 2023 stopped my plans of running the last events at Sydney Dragway to finish the year with some racing.

Good news though with IHRA securing bike insurance on Christmas eve, so back racing in 2024!!!!

A huge thankyou to everyone giving their support through the ups and downs of 2023 and following and supporting this page.

Hope everyone had an awsome Christmas and wishing everyone a Happy New Year and a safe and amazing 2024!!!!

Coming along very slowly but starting to see some results. No bike racing in the foreseeable future so getting the VR back down the strip may be the next best option!!

Sad times at the moment for motorcycle drag racers in Australia competing at IHRA sanctioned tracks. (Sydney Dragway is one of many)
Only a few days after re-newing my license, re-newing my tech inspection and obtaining a current medical to compete in some recent event's, IHRA nformed racers they have not been able to secure insurance to cover us at events Australia wide.
No idea or information given when IHRA Australia will have the situation sorted.

As many other bike racers at the moment, it's devastating having a bike with so much time and money invested in just sitting and not being able to race.

Luckily for myself I purchased and refurbished a street R1 a while back so can still enjoy some seat time. Also owning a street registered WR450 keeps the fun happening.

Hopefully IHRA can sort this out soon but in the meantime a couple of pictures of some recent riding to keep the page active and still R1 - Yamaha orientated!!

Been a hectic year and haven't been to the strip in a while but still managed to fit an air shifter earlier in the year and finally got to test it at Sydney Dragway Sunday street meet.

A little rusty and getting my head around the air shifter but the bike performed well. 5 x 9.5s passes and best on the day was a 9.51@144.

A big thankyou to Mad Car Media for the picture!!!!

Two qualifying runs this afternoon in not so good air.
Bike was a little slow but otherwise couldn't have hoped for better back to back runs.
First run a .026 reaction and 9.558@141.
Second run a .023 reaction and a 9.558@142.

Fingers crossed I can keep the same consistancy tomorrow!!!!

First event for the year!!!!

Top Fuel Slam at Sydney Dragway 27/28th January!!

In tribute to legendary drag racer Sam Fenech who sadly lost his life in a tragic accident recently at Willowbank drag strip, Top Fuel Australia and Bursons has made this the biggest event in a long time. Free entry for competitors and reduced spectator prices has each competitor class full and looking to be full grand stands!!

26 bikes entered in Modified bike is going to make for an excellent two days of racing!!
Some changes to the bike and no testing is going to be interesting, but as always I'm just gonna send it!!!!

What an up and down year for 2022, from placing 2nd in the Top Fuel national round at the start of the year, the bike 90% falling off the trailer doing cosmetic damage, rebuilding the top end in just over a week, re-teaching myself how to launch the bike, and PBs with the bike running consistently quicker then ever.

Placed 9th out of 24 bikes in the NSW Championship for modified bike for the 2022 season.

A huge thankyou to everyone for there support for this page through the year, all the modified bike racers who help make racing enjoyable even on the bad days.
Sydney Dragway always doing there best, Ron Welch for looking after us bike racers, and all the photographers capturing the action.

Wishing everyone a happy and safe Christmas and New Year and all the best for 2023!!!!

Thankyou to Cackling Pipes for another amazing picture from the last round!!
