💛🖤 GAME DAY EVE 🖤💛

Tomorrow the Tigers head down the highway to take on Lakes Entrance at the Lakes Entrance Recreation Reserve! The last time these two clubs met, we saw draws in both the Thirds football and 17s netball, so make sure you get around the oval and the courts to catch those contests. Both sides will be looking to go one better this time around!

Our 13s are looking to continue their outstanding season, while the 15s will be eager to add another win to their tally. From there, it’s a full day of competitive netball, so get around our girls and make plenty of noise from the sidelines!
Over on the footy field, our Reserves will be looking to turn the tables after the last meeting, while our Seniors face a tough challenge against a strong Lakes Entrance outfit. The boys will need plenty of Tiger support, so let’s get behind them and cheer them on to some important wins!

We LOVE celebrating milestones at Wy Yung, and tomorrow we recognise one of the best! Congrats to Caitlin Wright on playing her 50th A Grade game for Wy Yung. Since joining the Tigers, Caitlin has achieved Multiple Club Best & Fairests, League Best & Fairest & Ranked 79th Best Country Netballer. Wy Yung is incredibly lucky to have you, Caidos. We wish you all the very best for your milestone game! 💛🖤

Last night was an all-Wy Yung showdown in the BNA 15&U Netball Grand Final, with just one goal separating the two Tiger teams at the final whistle!

Our junior boys return to Bullumwaal Road Reserve on Sunday to take on Orbost. Still undefeated, they’ll be looking to keep that record intact! 11s – 10:30am, 13s – 11:30am, 15s – 1:00pm
Also on Sunday Katelyn Wheer, Aster Cole and Ellen Hill head to the Association Championships Finals Day at the State Netball Centre in Parkville on Sunday. You have a huge weekend of netball ahead, girls, and everyone at Wy Yung is incredibly proud of you! 💛🖤

🐯💛🖤 Tigers Represent! 🖤💛🐯

Our junior Wy Yung girls, along with a Wy Yung coach, joined teammates from across East Gippsland to represent the Bairnsdale Netball Association at the Eastern Association Championships in Moe on Sunday.

Congratulations to all the teams on a fantastic day, with BNA 13’s Blue and BNA 15’s Blue both winning their Championship Divisions and securing a place at the Association Championships Finals Day at the State Netball Centre this Sunday.

We wish Katelyn van Doeselaar and the BNA 15’s Blue team, along with Aster Cole, Ellen Hill, and their BNA 13’s Blue teammates, all the very best for Finals Day!

A huge congratulations to all our Wy Yung representatives across the 11’s, 13’s and 15’s age groups on an outstanding squad season with the Bairnsdale Netball Association. Wy Yung was once again proudly represented across all age groups.

🐯 Game Day Report – Wy Yung v Boisdale-Briagolong 🐯

It was honours even today between the Tigers and the Bombers, with both clubs finishing the day with five wins apiece.

The day kicked off with our 13 & Under netballers shaking off a slow start to continue their unbeaten run. The 15 & Under girls put their best foot forward with an impressive 10-goal victory, while the 17 & Under team turned the tables with a determined performance to secure an important win.

Senior netball began in challenging conditions, with D Grade falling just short by eight goals in the wet weather. The rain eased slightly for C Grade, but our girls couldn’t quite get over the line. B Grade, much like the 13s, overcame a shaky start to fight their way to a valuable win, while A Grade battled hard all afternoon before narrowly going down at the final whistle.

Over on the football field, the Thirds got the day off to the perfect start with a strong win. Unfortunately, that was where the good news ended, with the Boisdale-Briagolong Reserves proving too strong and our Seniors coming up against a very solid Bombers outfit.

Some of the toughest and most competitive contests of the season were on display today, both on the netball court and the football field.

🐯💛🖤Happy Game Day Eve, Tigers! 🖤💛🐯

Tomorrow we welcome Boisdale-Briagolong to Bullumwaal Road Reserve!
The last time we met, the Tigers came away with 5 wins, 1 draw and 4 losses. Our Senior and Ressies will be looking to turn the tables this time around, while our Thirds will be aiming to add another win to their list!

On the netball court, there are some exciting matchups ahead. A Grade battled to a draw in our last meeting, B Grade snuck home by a single goal, and C Grade recorded a strong win. D Grade faced a tough challenge against the reigning back-to-back premiers, while the 17s fell just short. Our 15s and 13s both got the job done and will be looking to repeat the effort tomorrow.
The Tigers will need to dig deep across the board, but with home-ground advantage behind us, we’re hoping the cards fall our way!

Would it really be a Saturday at Tiger Land without a milestone? This week we celebrate an incredible achievement as Bayden Ashwood runs out for his 350th senior game. Bayden began his senior football journey in 2005 and has since compiled an outstanding record…116 senior games with Lindenow FNC, including multiple premierships, 69 senior games with Bairnsdale FNC and 165 senior games with Wy Yung FNC
An incredible milestone for one of East Gippsland’s most colourful footballers. Congratulations Bayden! Everyone at Wy Yung wishes you all the best for your milestone game. Hopefully there’s a win for you tomorrow, and another for your Under 15s on Sunday!
