Dear Masters Squash Community,

What a fantastic way to start the year!

Our first tournament set the tone for what is shaping up to be an outstanding season. The energy, sportsmanship, and support shown by everyone involved truly reflects the strength of our Masters community.

It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces back on court, along with a strong number of new players joining in. The positive feedback received has been overwhelming and very encouraging for the committee. It confirms that we are heading in the right direction and continuing to build something special for Masters squash in NSW.

A big thank you to all players, supporters, organisers, and volunteers who helped make the event such a success. Your commitment and enthusiasm are what make these tournaments so enjoyable.

We are now looking forward to seeing you all at the ACT Masters on 28th February & 1st March, followed by the Bathurst Masters on 21st & 22nd March.

Let’s keep the momentum going and continue playing in the true spirit of Masters.

Kind regards,
Wally Guerreiro

Dapto Masters 2025 – A Weekend of Grit, Glory and Unforgettable Squash

The 2025 Dapto Masters Tournament delivered one of its most electrifying weekends in recent memory. Across thirteen divisions, athletes pushed deep into the reserves of endurance, composure, and pure competitive instinct. What unfolded was a showcase of everything that makes Masters squash a spectacle of passion and pride.

From five-set thrillers to dominant title runs, every court told a story.

Division-by-Division Highlights
Division 1

The top division lived up to its billing. Craig Brann stood tall as the weekend’s premier force, controlling the tempo and delivering a commanding performance in the final. Peter Bastow fought through a tough draw to secure runner-up honours, while the consistency of Bernard Bauer earned him third place.

Division 2

One of the weekend’s most dramatic finals came from Division 2, where Shane Graham outlasted Garry Piggott in a fierce five-setter that had the gallery on edge. With precision and resilience, Graham closed the match and claimed the title. Mark Goode and Brad Clark finalised the top four.

Division 3

Division 3 was a battleground of long rallies and marathon sets. Kyle Page was unshakeable at the top, claiming the championship, while Andrew Chen and Peter Chang completed a tightly contested podium. Wally Guerreiro delivered powerful performances to finish fourth.

Division 4

The Division 4 final saw a standout performance from Lorraine Rae, who navigated pressure moments with poise to take the crown. Glenn Sharp secured second after a strong campaign, followed by the duel of determination between Jeff Loss and Davina Hamilton for third and fourth.

Division 5

Ben Green captured the Division 5 title with a run marked by composure and decisive ex*****on. The never-say-die performance of Paul Ditton pushed him into second after one of the weekend’s most intense semifinals. Michael Mortiss and Jon Grantham rounded out the top contenders.

Division 6

Division 6 delivered one of the emotional centrepieces of the tournament. In a final that swung wildly in momentum, Chris Halligan emerged victorious after a gripping five-set battle. His opponent and fiancée, Tyne Gough, delivered her best performance of the weekend to secure second, these two may need pre marital councelling after that grueling 5 setter whilst giving the crowd a final they’ll talk about for years. Jodie Evans and Phil Grant completed the top four.

Division 7

Dave Reid showcased consistency and tactical mastery to take out Division 7. Runner-up Tracey-Lee Hall battled fiercely throughout the weekend, while the grit of Richard Woodbridge and the determination of Wayne Henderson earned them third and fourth.

Division 8

The Division 8 final stretched past the fifty-minute mark, with Stephen Fry rising above fatigue to claim the title in a deciding fifth set. Richard Gatty claimed second after a standout weekend, while Wilfred Hoey and Jai Vickery locked in strong top-four finishes.

Division 9

A fired-up Adrienne Toohey surged to the Division 9 championship, combining power and precision across her finals run. Susan Blackbourn closed out second place with authority, while Peter Williams and Belinda Xuereb filled out a competitive top four.

Division 10

Few divisions offered the dominance seen in Division 10, where Wendy Gray-Spence produced a flawless finals display to secure the title. Joy Connolly followed with a strong second place, and the experienced pairing of Julie Vander Helder and Anne Bennett rounded out the podium.

Division 11

Experience and control were the story of Division 11 as Robert Spooner captured the championship following a composed and tactical performance against the fast-rising Tina Mason. Third place belonged to the ever-reliable Robyn Willmette.

Division 12

In one of the closest divisions statistically, Annette Hopkins rose above the tight margins to take top honours. Christine Olsen and Katie Totaro completed a fiercely competitive top four, with many matches going the distance.

Division 13

The final division of the weekend delivered a highlight-reel finish. Julie Dayeh displayed exceptional tournament form to claim the Division 13 title, while Gail Beverley and Charmaine Hepburn fought through a demanding draw to secure podium positions. Ken Bryant held firm to complete the top four.

A Tournament to Remember

The Dapto Masters once again proved why it stands as one of the marquee events on the NSW Masters calendar. The sportsmanship, intensity, and spirit on display across thirteen divisions created a weekend that showcased the very best of squash.

Players, supporters, and volunteers combined to deliver a memorable event. Congratulations to all competitors who left everything on court.
