On Saturday the club had a fundraising Trivia night held by one of our sponsors, Woy Woy Hotel.

A fanstatic evening had by all and the team from Patonga RFS took out top spot.

Lots of laughter, massive meat trays and some very happy club members and their friends.

Huge congratulations to our CCOCC paddlers who did us proud at the Hekili Outrigger Canoe Club miniG 20km race in Cairns. Our OC6 crew were second mixed crew over the line, taking gold in their division. And Toni with Paddlers Without Borders were second women’s crew over the line, also taking gold in their division.

This weekend a team of CCOCC paddlers headed north to the National Championships in Coffs Harbour. Our team comprised two OC6 crews, with three doubling up on OC1s. We were also fortunate to have a team of very passionate supporters taking the trek with us.

On Friday, Dennis, Ron and Stephen raced their OC1s, with Dennis finishing on the podium, and Ron & Stephen achieving PBs - noting it was Stephen’s first OC1 race!

On Saturday, under grey skies, our Master Women's unlimited crew joined a packed start for the 18km race, finishing strong in tough conditions. On Sunday, after a night of torrential rain, our Golden Master Mixed unlimited crew raced in the 18km, finishing 3rd in their category. We also had Dennis competing with the Newcastle Men, picking up 2nd, and Elaine at short notice joining the Five Islands woman’s short course crew.

Congratulations to all our paddlers. What a fantastic team and weekend of laughter and competition. Special thanks to Jim & Michelle for towing our canoes and to our coaches for preparing us for Nationals. To our club members & families back home for your encouragement and tolerating all our training.

Thanks Port Hacking Outriggers Club for a fantastic regatta to round off the NSW season. A beautiful day on the water, great course, and the swell picking up to add to the fun.

Our OC6 crews and OC1 paddlers raced hard and did us proud! Congratulations to the master women and senior master women in the short course, and the golden master mixed in the long course.
And to Ron, Geoff and Dennis who doubled up to race OC1 as well, 2nd and 4th in golden masters and 2nd in platinums.

GMM Andy silver in his first OC1 race and Ron a strong 5th

The club are sending 4 crews and 3 OC1 entrants to State Championships this weekend.

A wonderful location and hopefully the predicted thunder storms will stay away and we get great racing.

Looking forward to catching up with familiar faces and hopefully a few turtles around the course to.

Vale Robyn Reid

Respected local elder, who supported so many community events with generous and thoughtful Acknowledge to Country.

Aunty Robyn performed several cultural blessings for our canoes, Daringyan and Bungaree before they entered the water, and extended Welcomes to Country for our club regattas, inspiring deep respect and gratitude toward the outrigger culture in our community.

Aunty Robyn was a woman who was larger than life with a smile and laugh to match. Her kindness and warmth touched everyone who knew her. She will be sadly missed.

Mahalo nui loa, Robyn, - (thank you, with much affection Robyn) from your Ohana here at Central Coast Outriggers.

We share our thoughts for her in acknowledgement and respect of her funeral today.

A beautiful blessing ceremony today for our new Hydra named Mana, our refurbished Malolo named Whaitere, and some of our club members' OC1s.
A special thank you to Vaughan Hakaraia for conducting such a moving blessing, and to all our club members, family, friends and supporters who turned out for this special day. We were thrilled our sponsors from Gosford RSL Club and Community Bank Ettalong Beach were able to join us.
