APRIL MEMBER OF THE MONTH - David!

One of the few brave males in the studio who isn’t scared off by a room full of strong women!!
David has been showing up consistently for a long time now and has well and truly made Pilates part of his ā€œretirementā€ lifestyle… although considering the hours he still works casually we aren’t sure you can call it retirement…
What we love most is how well he listens to his body, modifying when needed and working with it, not against it, while still getting the most out of every session.
He always walks through the studio door with a big smile, full of positive energy and is more than happy to join in on the (sometimes crazy) class conversations, usually while teaching us all something new he’s learnt during the week too!
Thank you for being a dedicated member of the studio David and we’re very lucky to have you part of our Pilates community 🧔

NEW CIRUIT PILATES CLASSES šŸ™Œ

We are excited to announce that we’ll be adding more Circuit Pilates Classes to our timetable starting Thursday 30th April.

In these classes we use many different types of equipment to create a really fun and challenging workout. We also get to do things we don’t typically do in our reformer classes - such as the jump board, which we’ll be using in the first couple of weeks of these classes.

So come check it out, easy to book in online.

PS. remember you can book these with your reformer passes and class packs.

March Member of the Month – Leah

Leah is new to tlgw Pilates after having her first baby, and has absolutely thrown herself into her sessions with commitment and consistency. No matter how busy life gets with work and family, she always makes time for her two classes each week, even if it means moving things around to make it happen.
She’s fit right into our (sometimes a little crazy!) afternoon classes, working incredibly hard while still managing to have a laugh along the way. Leah has picked up the movements and exercises so quickly, and we’re already seeing her strength and technique continue to improve thanks to her dedication.
And of course… we LOVE seeing her beautiful smile in class.
Leah, we’re so proud of you and thank you for choosing to be part of our studio community!

Happy Birthday to our amazing instructor Kat šŸ„‚

We are so thankful and lucky to have you as part of our team and local gym family. We hope that have the best day and weekend celebrating. We all know you deserve it.

Fun fact - Over the last 12 months Kat challenged herself to doing 50 mountain climbs before turning 50. She achieve that goal this week. Congratulations Kat šŸ™Œ We know this was filled with mixed emotions 🫣 but you should be very proud of achieving your such an awesome goal!

Understanding Core Positioning - Side Lying

Firstly what we mean by core positioning is how you orientate your pelvis with your spine.

In side lying positions, instead of having a flat or downward curve of the spine, we can better position ourselves to have a more neutral spine.

- Visually this will appear to create space around the waist as we lift away from the floor
- Our Cue is to draw the area between your hips and ribs away from the floor/carriage, lifting towards the ceiling to find a more neutral position.

This is harder than it looks but when practiced can help improve your pilates movements and build laterally stability.
