WGC LEGACY GOLF CHARITY DAY presented by Dominelli Ford

What a fantastic day at the Legacy Golf Charity Day at Woolooware Golf Club on Saturday.

After several days of rain, there were concerns about the weather and course conditions, but thanks to the incredible work of Brad Ulph and the course staff, the course was presented in remarkably good condition and a full field of golfers enjoyed a wonderful day of golf, camaraderie and fundraising.

We were honoured to welcome special guests Mark Speakman and Sutherland Shire Mayor Councillor Jack Boyd, whose presence highlighted the importance of this long-standing community event.

A special moment of the day was the presentation of a cheque for $48,000 to Andrew Marr, Legatee and President of the Legacy Golf Panel. Andrew spoke of Legacy's deep gratitude for the many years Woolooware has hosted this event under the passionate leadership of the late John Stoffels. He shared how honoured he was to see John's commitment and vision continue through the dedication of Pat Stoffels, Phil McColl, Trish Huthwaite and a hardworking committee who have ensured that this wonderful tradition lives on.

The ceremony concluded with a moving rendition of the Last Post, beautifully played by bugler Andrew Hansch, providing a fitting reminder of the purpose behind Legacy's work and the families it supports.

Thank you to everyone who played, volunteered, sponsored and contributed to the success of the day. The generosity of our Woolooware community continues to make a real difference, and we are proud to play a part in supporting Legacy and the invaluable work it does for veterans' families.

Mary Moffatt would like to thank all the women members for the beautiful flowers she received after the passing of her dear husband Brendan.

Mary cared for Brendan at home throughout his battle with cancer until his recent admission to Calvary, where he sadly passed away last weekend.

Our thoughts are with you Mary and we are all here to offer you our love and support.

A Celebration of Life for Brendan will be held on Wednesday June 3 at 2pm at Wanda Surf Club in The Founders Room.
Mary welcomes anyone who would like to attend.

The final game of the Bronze 2 Pennant season was played at Cronulla today and the team had a great win against Cronulla, 3/2.
It was a close finish for the Pennant with 3 teams on 10 points, coming down to games.

Final result was Kareela 1st, Cronulla second and Woolooware third.
Congratulations to Susan Bourne, field captain, for steering the team to a great result.
All players did Woolooware proud with their enthusiastic team spirit and they celebrated their success back at the club today.

We would again like to extend our gratitude to Fineprint for their sponsorship of the Women’s Woolooware Cup, which took place today.
The Cup was successfully defended by last year’s winner, Charlotte Perkins, with a score of 73.
Leanne Fuller, the Cup’s runner-up, also secured The Salver with a Nett score of 66.
Christine Morson was the Salver runner-up with 68 c/b, while Janice Blake finished as second runner-up, also with 68 c/b.
The fairways and greens were in top condition which made for some great scores today.

Our Silver Pennant team were all fired up for their game at Bankstown against The Coast today but unfortunately going down 5/0 was not expected. All matches were hard fought to the end and our girls are determined to come back next week looking for another win.
