πŸŽ‰ Big news β€” our new website is live!

Head over to www.woopipilatesyoga.com and have a look around. You'll find us near the top of any search for Pilates or yoga in Woolgoolga too β€” our Google listing has been updated to match our new name.

The old website is still ticking along for now, but from 1 July we'll start the process of switching it off. Once that happens, any old links or bookmarks for Pilates & Yoga with Mary-Ann will automatically redirect you to the new site, so you won't be left out in the cold. That redirect won't be there forever though, so please take a moment to bookmark the new website.

There are still some changes I need to manage on the booking system but I'll let you know about those as they happen.

Our email address is also now changed - look out for emails from [email protected] from now on - there should be one in your mailbox right now!

As we settle into winter, there's no better time to keep moving, breathing and making space for yourself amidst the busyness of life.

🧘 Yoga Focus: Water

This week, Lotta continues our journey through the Five Elements with a focus on Water.

Where Earth invited us to feel grounded and supported, Water encourages us to move with adaptability and ease. It's about flowing around obstacles, softening where we can, and trusting our natural rhythm.

Expect practices that explore fluid movement, mindful transitions and the balance between effort and surrender.

✨ A New Chapter is Taking Shape

You may have noticed a few changes recently...

We're in the process of transitioning from Pilates & Yoga with Mary-Ann to Woopi Pilates & Yoga.

This is very much a work in progress, but you'll start to see our new name and logo appearing more frequently across our communications, social media and promotional material.

While the name is evolving, our commitment to providing welcoming, inclusive and high-quality Pilates and Yoga experiences for the Woolgoolga community remains exactly the same.

On Saturday 11 July, we'll be exhibiting at the Woolgoolga Wellness Expo at Wiigulga Sports Complex from 9:00am until 12:00pm.

We'll be sharing more information in the coming weeks as we develop our stand and activities, but we'd love to see you there and help us introduce Woopi Pilates & Yoga to the wider community.

Last week, Lotta's classes explored the grounding qualities of the Earth element. This week, we continue our elemental journey with Water.

Water teaches us adaptability, resilience, and ease. It reminds us that strength isn't always about pushing harderβ€”sometimes it's about flowing around obstacles, softening where we can, and trusting our natural rhythm.

Expect fluid movement, mindful transitions, and opportunities to cultivate both mobility and calm as we explore the qualities of the Water element together. Like water itself, our practice encourages us to move with greater ease, replenish our energy, and find freedom within movement.

Q: Can we provide a receipt for your health insurer?
A: Yes β€” absolutely and with pleasure.

If you hold private health insurance with extras cover, you may be able to claim back part of your class fees depending on your fund and policy. Cover for Pilates and yoga is often listed under categories such as Pilates, exercise physiology or natural therapies β€” though inclusions vary between funds and policies, so it's worth a quick check with your insurer.

With many funds adjusting their extras cover regularly, you might be pleasantly surprised by what you're entitled to β€” or realise you've been leaving money on the table!

Simply ask us for a receipt at any time and we'll get one to you straight away.

A gentle reminder that there are no classes on Monday due to the King's Birthday public holiday.

Last week, Lotta concluded our exploration of the Eight Limbs of Yoga, bringing to a close a journey through Patanjali's timeless teachings. As we move into winter, we return to the elements, beginning with Earth β€” a fitting place to start as the days become cooler and we naturally seek a little more grounding and stability.

🌟 Welcome to the 100 Club, Sherree! 🌟

Today we're celebrating a wonderful milestone β€” Sherree's 100th class! πŸŽ‰

Sherree joined us in November 2024 as part of our very first Yoga Fundamentals for Beginners Course, and in the time since has become a familiar and valued face across Gentle Hatha, Monday mornings, Yin Yoga, our Restorative Yoga Clinic β€” and even a little ABC Pilates along the way.

100 classes takes real commitment. Sherree has shown up consistently, built genuine strength, flexibility and stamina, and made her practice her own. That's entirely her doing.

She also brings a warmth and generosity to every class that makes it a better room for everyone in it β€” and the friendships that have grown through shared practice and post-yoga coffees are a testament to that.

Sherree, thank you for being such a valued part of this community. Congratulations on 100 classes β€” we look forward to many more ahead! πŸ’›

🌟 250 Classes for Trish! 🌟

Today we're celebrating an incredible milestone β€” Trish's 250th class! πŸŽ‰

If you've ever attended one of our Monday or Wednesday Pilates classes, you'll know exactly where to find Trish β€” front and centre, focused on her form, keeping an eye on Dave's form in the mirror, and helping keep the rest of us on our toes!

One of my favourite things Trish has ever said about Pilates was: "It's like brushing your teeth β€” I just couldn't not do it." And that sums up her approach perfectly. Pilates isn't something she does occasionally; it's part of the foundation that allows her to keep enjoying all the things she loves β€” mountain biking, swimming, spending time with her grandchildren and embracing life's adventures.

Week after week, class after class, Trish shows up and puts in the work. She is a wonderful example of what can be achieved through consistency and a firm believer in "use it rather than lose it."

Her commitment to movement, wellbeing and healthy ageing is inspiring, and she continues to demonstrate what's possible when you make exercise a regular part of life.

Congratulations, Trish! We think you're amazing and we're delighted to celebrate your 250 Club milestone with you. πŸ’›
