Super proud of Hayden’s efforts again today. Last minute decision to enter Cooloola’s last round for the year and because this was not a planned event and Hayden’s little brother had plans on Saturday morning we were not able to get up to Cooloola on Saturday in time for any practice sessions.
So a brand new track with no practice and a massive storm Sunday morning delaying racing for almost an hour due to lightning it was just straight into qualifying. With lots of puddles still on the track the decision was made to go out on wet tyres and Hayden managed P2. Unfortunately there were only 2 other drivers in Hayden’s class.
Heat 1 - p2-p1
Track was dry so we were back on slicks (because there were only 3 of them Hayden did not get new tyres for this race meeting).
It was evident that Hayden was much quicker and had a lot more experience than both the other drivers in his class and his fastest lap time in heat 1 was 39.460 only 0.637 off the lap record of 38.823.
So we set Hayden the goal of trying to beat the record…
Heat 2 - p2-p1
After dropping another 0.181 off his quickest lap time in heat 1 doing a 39.279 Hayden was now only 0.456 off the record.
Heat 3 - p1-p1
Shaved off another 0.157 with a 39.122, now only 0.299 off the lap record.
Final - p1-p1
Hayden managed to get down into the 38’s three times in the final with his quickest lap being 38.852 only 0.03 off the lap record of 38.823…
Great weekend with great friends, Hayden is determined to go back again next year and try again 😁

Round 9 of Toowoomba, last round for the year.!.!.
This was a very tricky day, the rain wasn’t sure what it wanted to do and Hayden has had very little wet weather practice so it was always going to be a battle in a field of 13 drivers.
Hayden has worked so hard on his confidence in the last few months and this really paid off for him.
Random grid saw Hayden start 9th for heat 1 in dry conditions, getting an awesome start (which is something else Hayden has been working hard on) making his way to 5th and with a couple great passes finished 3rd.
Heat 2 was also dry conditions, Hayden started 2nd and again finished 3rd.
Then came heat 3…
Based on points from the previous 2 heats Hayden started 3rd, by now the rain had started to fall. Not wet enough for wet tyres but just enough to have ourselves questioning if we should put them on or not. We made the decision to stick with slicks and unfortunately due to Hayden’s inexperience he ended up in the gravel trap at turn 2 with a DNF.

FINAL - starting 5th and the track was dry again. Another awesome start got Hayden up to 2nd by turn 3. After battling with the driver in 3rd for a couple laps and letting the leader get a 1.3 second gap Hayden put his head down and started punching out some really great lap times closing the gap by a few tenths every lap and setting the fastest lap of the race. A few rain drops fell again but thankfully held off. Last lap board was shown and Hayden was 0.2 behind the leader, knowing he probably only had one shot at it he dove down the inside of turn 1 and was able to put his kart in the exact right spot for turn 2 & 3 taking the lead and winning the race by 0.8 seconds.

This is a huge achievement for Hayden getting on the top step of the podium for the first time and we are so proud of his efforts. Bring on 2026 😁🍾🥇

Huge thank you to Michael Rolfe and to everyone who came and congratulated Hayden, it really meant a lot to him to see so many people so happy for him.

Last weekend Tyler raced in the third and final round of the Toowoomba Winter Carnival. This was the annual two day event where 2 heat races are run on Saturday in anti-clockwise direction and then heat 3 and the final are run on Sunday in clockwise direction.
Format was a little different for this round as well, no qualifying so heat 1 was randon grid and then heat 2 was reversed from heat 1. And final positions for the weekend was based on all points from all races instead of final only counts.

Saturday
Heat 1 - started p19, finishing p18 with a DNF due to the spark plug coming out on lap 4.
Heat 2 - started p2, finished p2

Saturday Night - after cleaning the kart we realised Tyler had been driving on a bent axle all day 🙄

Sunday
Heat 3 - started p8, finished p3
Final - started p8, finished p3

After an awesome weekend of driving from Tyler unfortunately because it was all points count and not final only he finished p8 for this weekend.

Winter Carnival Recap
Round 1 - P1
Round 2 - P3
Round 3 - P8

Going into round 3 Tyler was tied for points for 1st and only 1 point ahead of third. It was always going to be tight to see who ended up on what step. Finishing p8 for round 3 meant that Tyler ended up 3rd for the Winter Carnival.

Tyler made his AKC (Australian Kart Championship) debut on the weekend in KA3 Senior.
A class that he has never raced and only had 3 practice days before the event.

After a few issues on Friday morning we missed practice 1, but thankfully we got that all sorted for practices 2,3&4. Tyler’s best result was 18th in practice 4.

Saturday morning was qualifying, Tyler qualified 22nd out of 33 karts.
Heat 1 started p22 - finished p21 with drop downs in front of him he moved up to p18.
And then the heavens open up. Considering the track copped a huge storm on Thursday everything was already wet making for a very trying afternoon.
Heat 2 started p22 - finished p27 with drop downs in front of him he moved up to p23.

Sunday
Heat 3 started p20 - finished p17
Heat 4 stared p16 - finished p30 unfortunately got caught up with another kart and ended up spinning out early in the race putting Tyler well behind the rest. But he was able to keep driving and managed to catch back up but just ran out of time.
FINAL started p20 - DNF
Tyler managed to get to p17 battling hard in the middle of a train of karts and to no fault of his own was unfortunately taken out half way through the race and ended up in the gravel trap unable to finish the race.
This was not the result Tyler was chasing but he was extremely grateful for the opportunity to race at a national level.
He is now hoping to enter for the next round at Coffs Harbour in a few weeks.

Massive thank you to Alan Czislowski & Chris Williams for all your help. You two were amazing and we wouldn’t have been able to do it without you both.
Thank you to our sponsors Sedl Earthmoving Pty. Ltd, Australian Civil Solutions, Torque Karting and Glenn Powles for the new sticker kit.

Winter Carnival Round 1 at Toowoomba.!.! 🏆🥇

What a great weekend for Tyler.
Qualifying was a little bit hairy with the rain starting to sprinkle and the decision to go out on slicks. He only got 5 laps in before the engine started overheating and he had to pull in early, Qualifying P10.

Heat 1 - Started p10 finished p3
Heat 2 - Started p10 finished p2 setting the quickest lap of the race.
Final - Started p2, dropped back to fourth on the start but made his way to first and held it to the finish line. Finishing p1 😁
Tyler drove exceptional well this weekend and finally made it to the top step of the podium for a much deserved win in TaG Restricted Light with a field of 22 karts. All his time and hard work paid off and we are super proud of him.

A week late but better late than never.!.!
Last weekend we were at Toowoomba again for round 3 of the club championship.

Tyler had some mechanical issues in qualifying which only let him complete one lap putting him in p8 but after coming in 100grams under weight unfortunately he was disqualified meaning he had to start from the back in heat 1 & 2.
Heat 1 - started p18. Not a great start but managed to drive his way to p9 and set the quickest lap time of the race.
Heat 2 - started p18 and drove to p7.
With some very clean racing and some awesome overtakes in heat 1 & 2 Tyler worked his way up to p8 for the final.
Final - started p8. Again, not a great start but Tyler drove really well, taking every opportunity that he saw open and managed to finish the day in 4th position. Sharing the fastest lap time with the leader for part of the race.

We would like to thank our sponsors Australian Civil Solutions, Sedl Earthmoving Pty. Ltd, Torque Karting.
