WELL DONE WILL AND HARRY!
We really enjoyed hosting Braemar students this week culminating today in the final teams battle. Congratulations to Will and Harry who won all three of their games for a total score of 7 ahead of three teams on five - Team Anouk, Team Will and Team Aiden. We look forward to hosting you again later in the year. And thanks to club members for help overseeing the sessions.

ROB & TONY WIN MEN'S PAIRS!It was a closely fought Woodend Bowling Club Men’s Pairs Grand Final with Rob Smithies and Tony Lennie (left) taking on Mike Dornau and Norm Bickerdyke. It was Rob and Tony’s first Pairs Grand Final while Mike and Norm were playing in their 6th Final in the last seven years (having won three). Rob and Tony had an early lead 5-1 after four before it was 5-5 after six. Then 10-10 after eleven and Rob and Tony led 14-10 after twelve. Mike and Norm then pegged back the score over the final ends and were holding two on the last end to level the match. Rob then took one of the shots out to win the match 14-13 on the 15th end. Well done to all players over the series and our new club champions.

Garry Dryden won today’s Club 100-Up title over Dennis Priede (the recent 21-Up Champion). Garry got away to a solid start and led 28-22 after five ends, before scoring 19 on ends 6 and 7 (10-9) to take a 24 shot lead. Dennis then scored his own 10 on the 9th end to cut the lead to 14. Garry then increased the lead back to 24 on the 15th end and went on to win 101-79 after 18 ends. Congratulations to both players for making the Grand Final and President Mike for marking. The Club Men’s Pairs Grand Final will be played this Friday afternoon at 1pm between Rob & Tony and Norm & Mike.

DENNIS WINS 21 UP
Dennis Priede (right) played Manny Randich in the final of the Woodend Bowling Club 21 UP yesterday. It was a close battle to begin with as Manny held the lead 6-5 on the 6th end. Dennis then went in front 11-8 by the 9th end, with Manny staying on 8 for the next five ends as Dennis built a solid lead 19-8 by the 14th end. Manny then only managed one more score as Dennis went on to win 22-9 after 17 ends. Congratulations to all players who contested the event and our two Grand Finalists, as well as Rob Smithies for marking. The 100 UP final will be played tomorrow at 2pm with Dennis returning - this time against Garry Dryden.
