Masters Swimming Australia’s (MSA) 50x50x50 Members Challenge proved to be a fantastic way for members to join a weekly swim program in celebration of our 50th Anniversary year during 2025. We were thrilled to see around 650 members jump in and have a go – an outstanding result!

Building on that momentum and with a focus on encouraging maximum participation, and also deliberately enhancing flexibility, we aim to open up the fun and give even more members the chance to get involved with a masters swimming goal for 2026.

MSA is therefore excited to introduce our new initiative: MSA ‘Target 26-26-26’ Members Swim Challenge.

Strong swimming this morning by our members taking on the 1km and 3km open water events Champion Bay SLSC Australia Day Challenge. We are very proud of all our swimmers out there in strong currents and a few big waves to get through at the start. Such a fabulous event.

Who’s joining us in the 26-26-26 challenge?

New start to the New Year - New start to a New MSA Challenge.
‘Target 26-26-26’ Members Swim Challenge. The concept is simple, flexible and welcoming to swimmers of all levels:
🏊‍♀️Swim a total of at least 2.6 km in any stroke/combination of strokes, any combination of laps/distances, within each two-week/fortnight period.
🏊‍♀️You need to complete a minimum of 26 completions of a 2.6km total cumulative distance throughout 2026
🏊‍♀️Use the Vorgee Million Metres app to keep track of your swims to be eligible

Winner Winner (well two of the Club anyway!). Geraldton Masters swimmers participated in the Annual National Masters 400 run by the Bunbury Masters Swimming Club. Of the six winners, we took two places (two others were taken by Hobart!). Huge congratulations to Jan Gill and Chad Winkley.

Getting our registration right for today’s swim at the Riverton Liesureplex. Jan’s doing a 400 and the 800 breaststroke. I’ll have a go at the 800 free and a 400m backstroke - hopefully there’s a line on the ceiling that I follow…otherwise it’s one side to the other! Go Geraldton!
