🏉U14s Preliminary Final vs Leongatha
Sunday we headed to a sun soaked Dalyston on a perfect day for footy to take on our Gippsland archrivals in Leongatha for a shot at getting through to the Grand Final.
From the outset it was a tough, contested game, with both teams' showing great skill and intent while playing a quality brand of football, and although Leongatha pulled away early, our squad dug in deep and fought through to the very end.
Unfortunately, when the final siren came, it wasn't us that came out as victors on the day, and even though this isn't how we'd hoped it would finish, this shouldn't take away from the great season this group has had and all that they've achieved.
The growth in each and every one of the players, both as individuals and as a team, has been immense and the club is truly proud of the effort they have given, not just this year but for all the years they have leading up to this point.
It's been a pleasure and privilege to be involved with this playing group for the last 5 years and i am truly grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this groups growth and development, both as players and as young adults, and I look forward to seeing what the future holds for everyone (especially when they're wearing their Power jumper and representing the club as well as they have!!).
Lastly, a big thank you to all the parents, supporters, volunteers, sponsors and anyone who has ever helped over the years to ensure these kids are able to play a sport they love each and every week, it might take a village, but the effort is greatly appreciated and it couldn't be done without you all.
