Congratulations to our Wonthaggi Cricket Club legend and life member, Brendon Thomas.

Last night Brendon was awarded a well deserved Life Membership to the Leongatha & District Cricket Association.

While you may be aware of Brendon’s enormous service to the Wonthaggi Miners (as well as Dalyston and Rovers-Dalyston), he has also been a fantastic servant of the association.

As described by the LDCA:

“Brendon Thomas was awarded Life Membership. The amount of work Brendon has put into cricket in the area is enormous.

Brendon is our current score secretary and he has done this job for 22 years and still looking at continuing.

His accolades also include:
Junior Association secretary for 4 years.
Junior Committee member 3 years
Managed the GCL U/19’s for 3 years

Congratulations to Brendon and a well deserved award.”

Well done BT. Thanks for everything you’ve done for the Miners and the wider LDCA cricket community over so many years.

Hello Everyone,

We are back to do the Miners Mini Blasters (ages 5-8) & the Master Blasters (ages8-10) cricket program.

A few things have remained the same:

The venue, Friday afternoons at 4:30pm, lots of fun doing cricket stuff and the wonderful mums will be catered for too.

The start date will be Friday the 18th of October finishing Friday the 13th of December. For anyone still keen, we will have dates for when the under 12’s train after Xmas.

(If you know of anyone keen for a game of cricket at the U/12 level, we train on Thursday’s at Glen Alvie Rec Reserve at 4:30 till 5:30pm)

Registrations are open for Miners/Glen Alvie Blasters programs. I apologise for the late notice. We will be hoping to see lots of kids returning for some cricket fun, looking forward to seeing you all there at Rec 1.
