We are incredibly honoured to have Guardian Girls Karate recognised in NSW Parliament through a Community Recognition Statement delivered by Liesl Tesch MP, Member for Gosford.

This recognition acknowledges the important work of Guardian Girls Karate in empowering women and girls through confidence, awareness, personal safety and practical skills.

What began with a simple purpose continues to grow — creating safer, stronger and more confident women and girls through karate.

Thank you to Liesl Tesch MP for recognising the program and the impact it is making in our community.

Recognition like this inspires us to keep going, keep growing and keep empowering.

Last night was a special training session. We hosted a dozen men from The Barstool Brothers for their monthly activity. It was a chance for men to connect, share space and let off a bit of steam. We did some kihon and a small example of kata bunkai. Then we got stuck in bag work followed by combinations drills...and of course a bbq after, with boerie rolls!

At Illawarra Karate Academy we stand against . Members of Karate Australia are taking action and saying

Confidence in karate starts with small steps: learning a stance, practising a technique, trying again after mistakes.

That same confidence can help young people stand tall when faced with bullying.

Karate teaches students to believe in themselves, use their voice and know they are not alone. 🙌

No prior ninja skills necessary 😆, come and have a crack. Everyone's welcome. Experienced martial artists encouraged to come support those willing to be brave enough to try something new & different 😅

DETAILS

WHEN: Monday 24 August. 6pm arrival.

WHAT: Intro to Martial Arts & Self Defence practice incorporating fitness & impact bag work.

WHERE: Lakelands Public School hall in Dapto
- Cost: $10 paid in advance(to cover the bbq)
- Spots available: 20 max
- Post activity: onsite bbq & cold drinks

PROGRAM:
1. 6:00pm - people to arrive
2. 6:15pm - Karate/Self Defence session starts
3. 75 minute session (bring water and wear comfy/active clothes)
4. 7:30pm - bbq starts
5. 8:30pm - bbq ends
