Connecting To The Divine Feminine
A Workshop of Sacred Dance & Mantra
Friday 11 September, 6pm to 7:30pm
Complimentary with weekly unlimited membership and intro passes. All other class passes can be used to book.
Join Laury for an evening of gentle movement, Sacred Dance and mantra, connecting you with the Divine Feminine within and around you.
In the yogic tradition this energy is known as Shakti, the primordial force that moves through the whole universe. She’s the pulse behind every breath and heartbeat.
This workshop draws on the Sacred Dance tradition of Yasodhara Yoga, founded by Swami Radha, the first Western woman initiated as a Sanyasin. She learned these devotional dances while studying with Swami Sivananda in Rishikesh in the 1950s, later bringing them to the West as a way of using the body as a tool for spiritual connection.
No dance experience needed, all movements are simple and open to everyone.
What to bring: comfortable clothing, plus a notepad and pen if you’d like to journal afterwards.
Meet Laury
Laury is a devoted Yasodhara Yoga teacher, drawn to yoga as a path of reflection, devotion and the Divine Feminine. Her journey began over 20 years ago with this tradition, guided by women and rooted in nurturing spiritual practice. In 2024 she spent eight months living and training at Yasodhara Ashram in British Columbia. She now shares these gentle, contemplative practices from her home studio and is grateful to bring them to the Gather community.
